I don't know if this is in the spirit of competition, but to me, this is the next evolution of CFB. In a perfect world, Biff would be facilitating this from EMU so players wouldn't have to de-camp for North Carolina, but leveraging non-P5 schools as developmental areas would be brilliant. There are a few cases of QBs transferring back to schools after they've left so that they can play and continue to improve while they bide their time to win a starting battle. I honestly had this thought with NHG because of his own eligibility and Barrett and Colson both potentially being gone after this season. Send guys to a program to play that the school/coaching staff trust after a year in Ann Arbor, earn under grads and return to UM as grad transfers. It's honestly not that different from the prep school models the service academies use.

After Biff wins a national championship I hope he returns to UM.  I am still a bit nervous about his absence after reading that long form article about how impactful he was at Michigan and specifically the relationship btw JH and the players.

I don't know his situation but in general, kids are on the move these days and I'm seeing it now a lot in high school football, especially with "School of Choice" being available.  What happened to embracing the challenge and competing for the job?  Especially in football when you're only one snap away from being the guy.

Let me just say I truly wish the kid all the best and no problem with him transferring, of course.

That said, I was a bit surprised. I know the LB room is deep but he was damn good and seemed like he could have played quite a bit and in important roles...possibly still started?

Have to assume he just saw how spring played out and transfers + young talent put him in a position where starting was quite doubtful and he didn't think he'd be a majority contributor.

This one just feels kind of weird and sad but I think it's just because I personally really liked the kid.

Good for NHG. He will always have 2021 to remember. Fact is, we have some pretty good LBs so not shocked someone leaves for a chance to play.

Met his mom on the Sunday morning after the snowy Ohio win in 2021. We were at the same hotel. Told her that her son and team would always be remembered for breaking the curse and winning one of the most important UM games this century.

Damn Biff. Setting up a strong first year in Charlotte.

Honestly would probably be mad if it was a random program and be suspicious, but can't be mad about this. Best of luck to Charlotte and Biff Poggi.

I think it speaks well of all the coaches (current and previous) when guys leave to basically stay in the same coaching family. Normally, I pull for B1G teams in non-conference play, but I'm rooting for Charlotte to take down September Maryland.
