NFL Slate of Games - 10/4
Decent matchups today despite the postponements. I'm rotating Browns/Cowboys (entertaining game), Vikings/Texans (playoff teams from last season who have started 0-3), Lions/Saints (Lions looking good so far, but Patricia-time is coming), Seahawks/Dolphins (Russell Wilson on an MVP pace). Not many storylines this morning, but some good football so far.
Our guy Donovan Peoples-Jones made his NFL debut today. Had a nice punt return!
Go Blue!

Ouch, DPJ with a holding call on a Nick Chubb run. Welcome to the NFL - let's get some more positive stats!
October 4th, 2020 at 1:50 PM ^
At least Ford Field kinda fixed that awful fake crowd noise from week 1.
October 4th, 2020 at 1:56 PM ^
LOL If Patricia could get gone, I'd take the fake crowd noise. And, the fold is starting early, a bad challenge, and now it's 14 all!
October 4th, 2020 at 3:07 PM ^
Agreed, a game of two 1-2 teams.
1 that shouldn't be
1 that should be (worse)
The Lions have had a lot of bad coaches, but Patricia is right up there as one of the worst.
October 4th, 2020 at 3:37 PM ^
....and one HORRENDOUS family owner.
October 4th, 2020 at 3:07 PM ^
Just turned it on midway through the third, and the Lions do not look good.
October 4th, 2020 at 1:57 PM ^
Lions giveth, Lions taketh away. Choking already in the first half
October 4th, 2020 at 1:58 PM ^
I may have never seen a worse dline. They can’t rush the passer and are horrible against the run but let’s keep drafting tight ends
October 4th, 2020 at 2:01 PM ^
Yeah, that was a bad pick thrown by Matthew. He needed to get that out a tad farther and it would have been SIX.
October 4th, 2020 at 2:03 PM ^
Hockenson could make a play on the ball once in awhile like James just did
October 4th, 2020 at 2:07 PM ^
That pass to James should have been picked, but the defender let it slide through his hands. I'll get Hockenson a break on that one, he was running forward toward the corner of the end zone, and Matthew threw it towards the front pylon.
October 4th, 2020 at 1:59 PM ^
Miles Garrett having a helluva game, and season for the Browns!
It stuns me how announcers continue to wonder why the Texans offense is struggling this year. HUH? They traded, arguably, the best wide receiver in the game (DeAndre Hopkins), and let a 1000 yard back walk away in free agency! I don't know who's worse, Bill O'Brien the GM or Bill O'Brien the Head Coach!
October 4th, 2020 at 2:02 PM ^
Yeah, but they replaced Hopkins with the best RB in the league...
...from ~5 years ago
October 4th, 2020 at 2:08 PM ^
LOL Talk about a one year wonder!
October 4th, 2020 at 2:02 PM ^
Every time that stupid first round pick tight end blows another play it reminds why the GM has to be fired too. Blow this shit up!
October 4th, 2020 at 2:16 PM ^
I think Hockenson can be a nice offensive piece, but it's hard to argue against you on this point. He was a bad draft pick considering the teams needs.
October 4th, 2020 at 2:38 PM ^
I was at the draft that night. We were on a balcony overlooking the stage and first the giants took Daniel Jones and then Detroit took Hockenson. So many drunk, angry people...
October 4th, 2020 at 2:44 PM ^
That had to be a brutal few minutes! Could your ears handle all the booing? LOL
October 4th, 2020 at 2:03 PM ^
The Bucs D is so awful so far. It’s comical.
October 4th, 2020 at 2:14 PM ^
Whaaat??? They have talent on that side of the ball, and Todd Bowles coaching! They've given up 21, but 7 was on the GOAT's pick-6 INT.
October 4th, 2020 at 2:04 PM ^
Lions playing a 4-4 defense and still can’t stop the run? Jeez
October 4th, 2020 at 2:06 PM ^
And horrible tackling and no coverage. What a joke
October 4th, 2020 at 2:12 PM ^
Dalvin Cook is having a GAME for the Vikings, and Alvin Kamara... what can be said about his game?! There's still a place for good running backs in this league!
Lions are the salve for the Saints ailing offense, apparently! Wasn't Patricia a defensive coordinator? Didn't Bob Quinn bring the Patriot Way to Detroit? If the Saints can get into the 40's and keep the Lions under 30, we might get that change during the next week!
October 4th, 2020 at 2:26 PM ^
There’s a shit ton of awesome running backs in the NFL. They’ve certainly evolved over the past few years into more hybrid backs but the list is incredible. McCaffery, Chubb, Hunt, Cook, Elliott, Jones, Henry, Jacobs, Kamara are all amazing.
October 4th, 2020 at 2:35 PM ^
And, we lost a good one in Saquon Barkley the other week. Hopefully, he'll be back next year like Adrian Petersen did when he tore an ACL.
October 4th, 2020 at 2:22 PM ^
Dallas is stinking it up the last few possessions. Fumble,Fumble, Punt, down 28-14.
October 4th, 2020 at 2:26 PM ^
Fire Patricia at halftime
October 4th, 2020 at 2:39 PM ^
Patricia is such a fraud that he should be prosecuted.
October 4th, 2020 at 3:44 PM ^
Haaa, yes agreed !
October 4th, 2020 at 2:28 PM ^
Haven’t seen the game but Brady’s stats are awful. That offense was supposed to be loaded. Has he been as bad as it looks?
October 4th, 2020 at 2:31 PM ^
I don't have them in the rotation, but that pick-6 he threw was on a deep out. Uhh, he no longer has that kind of arm strength. If the game gets closer, I'll put them on and comment.
October 4th, 2020 at 3:31 PM ^
Turned in the game in time to see TB start to shred SD. It’s almost like he hears doubt start to creep in and reacts. Love to watch him at his best, it’s poetry
October 4th, 2020 at 2:29 PM ^
Question - who throws a better deep ball than Russell Wilson! Wow!
Question - who has been the worst former Belichick assistant as a Head Coach? Patricia, Mangini, McDaniels, Weiss, Crennel, O'Brien?
October 4th, 2020 at 2:41 PM ^
Have the Browns finally put all their talent together?
October 4th, 2020 at 2:46 PM ^
They're playing better after week 1, for sure. And, today, they are clicking offensively and defensively. They're a young team, and if they get some confidence and build some momentum, they'll be in the playoff hunt all year.
October 4th, 2020 at 2:55 PM ^
Donovan Peoples-Jones doing his part to stay on the field with a nice block to get Kareem Hunt into the endzone! We saw that a lot here! The young man is a well coached, good football player!
October 4th, 2020 at 3:02 PM ^
If he keeps blocking like that, going to be a ton of #11 jerseys popping up in Cleveland.
October 4th, 2020 at 3:11 PM ^
That'd be nice! Blue collar block, blue collar town!
October 4th, 2020 at 3:01 PM ^
The Cowboys are one Falcons collapse away from staring 0-4 in the face! The Mike McCarthy era is not getting off to a good start.
October 4th, 2020 at 3:10 PM ^
The GOAT is heating up! Gotta put the Bucs/Chargers into the rotation. Brady just threw a nice dime to OJ Howard for a touchdown. One possession game, now!
October 4th, 2020 at 4:12 PM ^
Finishes with 369 yards, 5 TDS, and 1 int...not a bad day at the office!
October 4th, 2020 at 3:19 PM ^
Gotta say, Justin Herbert looks really, really good. He’s made some unbelievable throws against a pretty good TB defense.
October 4th, 2020 at 3:30 PM ^
Yeah, he looked good earlier in the year, too. Maybe the Chargers have found their guy. Now, they just need to move back to San Diego!
October 4th, 2020 at 3:24 PM ^
Yeah, Brady is heating up! Nice, accurate 40 yard deep ball!
October 4th, 2020 at 3:24 PM ^
Next play - TOUCHDOWN!!!
October 4th, 2020 at 3:28 PM ^
Brian Flores is a pretty good coach. He keeps Miami competitive despite an extreme talent disadvantage. When Tua is ready, and the rest of the talent steps up/arrives... watch out!
Seahawks and Arizona having a little of that West Coast team - East Coast time zone trouble.
October 4th, 2020 at 3:30 PM ^
Not to be lost in the Lions blowout, Cesar Ruiz is a beast and they are running behind him on big plays. Very nice addition for the Saints.
October 4th, 2020 at 3:40 PM ^
Yes sir! Go Blue!
October 4th, 2020 at 3:42 PM ^
Caesar Rules !!
October 4th, 2020 at 3:40 PM ^
Ive forwarded an application for Patricia to join "The Biggest Loser"
