New Offer: Ron Thompson TE/WR/DE
I was just browsing the pay sites and saw that Ron Thompson from East Detroit H.S. received an offer today. He is a fairly big dude, and appears to be destined for either WR or TE at the next level. His only offers are Michigan and Toledo at this point, so we have definitely jumped on him early.
Here's some video I found of him:

Brady doesn't sleep or he has little helper elves like Santa Clause who send out offers for him for all the children that have been good.
Edit - Not sure if links are allowed or not - but here is his Rivals profile page.

Thanks for the link.
It seems that Fred Jackson is now recruiting mostly the state of Michigan based on his rivals profile:

I wonder if he will resume his recruiting of LA area once the staff starts to send out offers to players outside the midwest.

I'm sure he will go back to LA as it would be foolish to let his connections there go cold. Right now I like the concentration on players here in Michigan.

More Mid West recruits and top players!!

with good hands.
Can see him easily at TE running seam routes and short yardage "release" routes that will get first downs and keep moving the chains. Don't think he'll outrun anyone, but it will take a solid tackle to keep him from getting another 5-7 yards after the catch. You won't take him down with a "shoulder throw" tackle that Cam Gordon likes to throw at people.
Tough Nosed Michigan Football - works for me.

you see him running seam routes, that means he has to be fast right?

Was it necessary for you to take a shot at Cam Gordon? Did you mean for the blast radius to be a little bigger? Just curious ...

I want him, how nice would that be to have that power in the pro offense. Couple years down Chris Barnette starting with another big TE, and this big kid 6'4 240 playing WR. Ha

Looks like he shows solid blocking ability too. And he isn't afriad to go up and get the ball or take a hit in traffic. Hopefully he's being recruited as a TE.

Him and Funchess are going to be 1 and 1A as far as TE recruits in the state.

This is going to sound weird...
...but judging from the size of his hindquarters, he looks more like a TE than a WR.

You spend far too much time looking at the hindquarters of young men. They are people, not pieces of meat for you to drool over. Now, sit in the corner and think about what you have done while I peruse some Brooklyn Decker photos.

Any chance he is slated for defense?
February 10th, 2011 at 10:32 AM ^
There's a chance, but his interview on Rivals suggests that the coaches want him for offense.

Funchess tape shows way better skill at the TE position then this young man, so I don't know about 1a 1b. Props to Thompson, great hands and a decent route runner who uses his body well to get into position off his breaks. While he shows good speed he has average acceleration off the line which is why he isn't just a big WR on the next level. The difference between him and Funchess is blocking...

Said that recruiting Michigan would be a priority and so far he has backed that statement up.

Shows that there is a big need there and that they plan to take at least 2.
