6'5" 240lbs TE/SDE freshman out of Pickerington North (Jake Butt's high school). Other offer at this point according to 247 is Cincinnati, but reported is shown as having warm OSU interest but no offer yet. Has visited OSU, and reportedly grew up Buckeye fan. Edit: one article says 200lbs, one says 240lbs..since a freshman, I'd believe 200lbs.

He's much closer to 200. He's a future 5*. Period. He started for Pick North as a true frosh at DE and played a lot of TE. Pick North was legitimately a very good team last year -- probably top 10 in the state.

He also starts as a true frosh on the hoops team, which is top 3 in the state. I'm not sure how much more he'll grow, but even at 6'5 he's at least a legit mid-D1 basketball prospect with possible high 3*/low 4* upside.

In short, the kid is a freak even by Pickerington standards, and Pick Central and Pick North are churning out ballers in both football and basketball. So, it's definitely worth the early offer if that's what it takes to get in the conversation for this kid.

Three Borens (including Justin Boren's transfer from Central to North); Jake Butt; Taco Charlton (and Caris Levert!); Pat Elflein; A.J. Trapasso; current Buckeye Davon Hamilton; current OSU recruit Alex Williams; I think the current Sparty recruiting class has a couple of Pick North kids.  Out of Ohio's Top 100 football recruits, there are probably 9 or 10 from the two Pickeringtons...

I like them offering Ohio kids before OSU does, especially at schools that turn out a ton of guys. Make those jackasses work harder for longer for Ohio guys at the least. They're doing that with Cass/Belleville/King. Time to return the favor.

Judging by a lot of recent offers, it seems like UM in 2019 and beyond is really making a push to get back into Ohio and to lock down the home state.

In other recruiting news, K Adam Culp (Ithaca, MI) has committed as a preferred walk-on.

Not sure this deserves its own thread but I don't have enough points anyhow.
