Michigan wins again today (softball)
The Michigan Wolverine Softball team won for the second time today against Western Kentucky by a score of (7-1 ).
My pre-season All-American selection Ashley Lane got her bat going today by going 2 for 3. She had 3 RBIs and a run scored. Amanda Chidester went 1 for 3 with 2 RBIs and a run scored. Bree Evans went 2 for 3 with a run scored.
Stephanie Speierman was on the rubber for the Wolverines. She allowed only 1 earned run while giving up 6 hits. She recorded 5 Ks and 2BB and only gave up 1 extra base hit.
The Team is now 24-0 and play again twice tomorrow 13MAR11.

(Fr) Nicole Sappingfield hit in both games to extend her hitting streak to 19 games. Not sure if that is a Michigan record.

Story is up on Mgoblue now. Apparently it is the longest Michigan streak the athletic deparment sports info people can find, so yes, it is an M record. 43 games!, wow, she still has a ways to go, but awesome job for a Freshman.
is the Rod Carew of her time. She may not hit many HRs or have a lot of RBIs, all she does is hit.
I hope everyone reading MGoBlog realizes that this team is special. We may not see anything like this for years to come. Hutch is already COY in my book
