Michigan Vs. Washington - Maize Out Game Thread

Due to an uncertain Internet situation, I will get this started now.

Maize Out participation seems to be quite high.

Morris is not a bad QB either.  Great effort by Michigan D tonight.  Great win over a quality opponent who needed to play well tonight, desperate really.

It is a good win.  We got to get better but no one is running on Washington the way we did today.  We basically have two weeks to get better before the real season starts.

I wish I can say I feel happy about this win. But i still don't know how good it is. I can see corners need to improve. But where is the passing game? I need to see a 300 yard passing game pretty soon. And Roman Wilson, as great as he is, is there reason for him to not transfer out if the offense is going to continue to always be run heavy, and have am almost non existent pass game?

Sleepy noon game next.

2-0.

This feels like Minnesota.

Weird win, let's learn and crush NIU. Work on the passing game. Dominate in the secondary.

And most importantly, play a CLEAN GAME!

it will be interesting to see how they do against Wisconsin, which will be the first true test.

Washington is half of a good team - their defense was a good defense. Michigan really took it to them...and by not having support by their offense, their defense got worn down.

No problem with running the ball down a team's throat, but they need to make sure they have a Plan B for games they get behind in.

I don't think Gattis can design and coach pass plays that shred a secondary. He hasn't done it since he's been here. If he could do it we would have seen it by now.

I just don't know how attractive this offense looks to JJ McCarthy. He could leave and go to any one of probably 98% of schools in all of college football, to one that has a high octane passing game. I can't see why he would stay here.

Say what you will, but we will get our doors blown off against a competent team (Washington has 17 pts in 2 games). Gotta be able to score against good teams. Mac 7 of 15 tonight, not even 50% when 13 of the throws were behind the line of scrimmage.

Yeah we won but If we are serious about beating Ohio State, I don’t see how this furthered that goal because Washington up to this point is no Ohio State. To be fair not even Ohio State looks like Ohio State…yet.  The bottom line is that at some point we are going to have to see if we can pass when the pressure is on. The time to do that is not when we are playing Wisconsin, Penn State, or dare I say Rutgers. Laugh all you want Rutgers gave us all we could handle last year and Greg Schiano knows how to coach.

Maybe we should let them have more than 4 practices without their team captain and best WR by FAR? Before we blow everything up and give up on the season?

Maybe let them get another week of practice and play a MAC team rather than a primetime game against a P5 school that they've circled for 2 years now.

Reading the first ten or so pages of this thread (skimmed but still)... man, we have an awful lot of absolutely miserable "fans". Why even watch the damn games if you first don't understand fuck all of what is happening series to series, second you don't enjoy anything except first downs/td's/big D plays. That isn't how football works, unless you're just a juggernaut (we aren't, there are maybe 3). I just don't get it.

We absolutely dominated Washington.

2-0

Onward, Go Blue.
