Michigan Men’s Tennis moves onto NCAA Championship

Michigan Men’s Tennis beat Texas in the Super Regional this afternoon 4-3 and is headed to the NCAA Championships in Champaign, Illinois.  It was a great match that started outdoors and with two matches left to decide the winner, had a rain delay that moved the match indoors.  Anthony Kenty, playing #3 singles, beat his opponent to clinch the match as Michigan’s #1 singles player was in a tight match himself.  It was great to see a large crowd at the Tennis Center for this event.  I think 8 teams head to Illinois to play in the championship rounds.  GoBlue!!

We’ve faced our quarterfinal opponent #4 Buckeyes three times already this season:

Non-conference W 4-0

B1G Reg. Season L 1-4

B1G Tournament W 4-2

I know that it poured in some spots in and around Ann Arbor. Here in western Wayne County, only about 20 miles east of there, barely a drop.

Your weird weather observation of the day.

This is basically the Elite 8 for tennis.

Winner of 5 Michigan vs 4 osu plays winner of 7 UVA vs 2 Florida

In the other half of the bracket, winner of 1 TCU vs 8 Kentucky plays winner of 3 Baylor vs 6 Tennessee.

Stanford got knocked out last round by Baylor.

Just a reminder that Michigan has already beaten TCU, Baylor, and ohio state this season.

GO BLUE!
