Michigan library tweets Harbaugh questionnaire answers from 1982 (per Maize N Brew)

Pretty cool stuff. So we know Harbaugh was (is?) a fan of WMU, the SF 49ers, AC/DC, and James Garner. How am I not surprised?
And if you go to the Bentley Library twitter feed, you can see the Tom Harmon questionnaire again, in case you missed it previously on the board (some time ago).
Their twitter feed is actually really interesting!

Wonder if his opinion of the 49ers has changed any...

It's crazy how York spent 1.2 billion dollars on a new stadium and it turned out worse than their old stadium, which was already one of the worst stadiums in the league.
The bright side is that regular 49er fans will never have to experience it because it's 50 miles from San Francisco.

The location sucks. It's a traffic jam all the way there and they don't have parking They positioned the stadium wrong so you're going to get burnt to a crisp watching a game. The scoreboard reflects the sun off of it and blinds planes when they fly by.
The biggest problem by far was that they laid the foundation wrong and fucked off the turf so bad that it had to be torn out and replaced after 2 games were played on it. They put in grass which was just as bad as the turf, then put in new turf which also sucks.
For 1.2 billion, it's a disaster.

but is what Eddie did really all that bad? Unless there is something I am missing, isn't about NOT reporting a bribery request to someone? I never understood what that had to do with his owning the 49ers.

Jack Harbaugh was coaching at WMU at the time--keeping it in the family.

First thought was Pink Floyd's Meddle, but a google search proved that wrong.

Man, I loved that show, too. And James Garner. "Support Your Local Sheriff" is epic.
I'm off to YouTube...

MeTV had the Rockford Files on for a while; I've got about a dozen on my dvr. The golden firebird, the trailer on the cove and, of course, the (then high tech) answering machine:
"This is Jim Rockford. Leave your name and number and I'll get back to you."

I acually prefer "Support Your Local Gunfighter." But then I'm a sucker for Suzanne Plushette.

The Bentley is technically an archives, not a library. Very different types of institutions. The "Library" in the Bentley's name is just part of its title, and is actually a misnomer. Yeah, it's a big nitpick, I don't care.
October 5th, 2016 at 3:18 PM ^
As someone who has extensively used the Bentley's collections... Go on. Because this really isn't a nitpick as much as a matter of your incorrect interpretation of what the Bentley actually is--a library that predominantly, though not exclusively houses a variety of archival collections. They don't call themselves the Bentley Historical Library for nothing.
October 6th, 2016 at 2:30 PM ^
They may have some books they keep because of unique historical value, but their mission is to serve as the primary archives for UM and to house archival collections related to the state of Michigan. The vast majority of their shelves are filled with boxes of unique, historical documents. The staff is made up of mostly archivists (or positions related to archiving like records managers or digital curators), and they do not employ any librarians. An archives houses primary source materials (like 99% of the Bentley's research collections), while a library has non-unique items like mass-produced books/DVD's (Like at Hatcher). Thus, it is definitively an archives and not a library.
They call themselves the "Bentley Library", but refer to themselves as "an archives". I could go into the politics of an archives titling themselves as a "Library", but it boils down to 95% of the population having a grasp on the term "library" but having no clue what an archives actually is.

Harbaugh's pop was Western's coach at the time of the questionnaire. So that explains the WMU thing.

I love that the answer to"Toughest Opponent You've Ever Played" is left blank.

some ACDC, Sammy Hagar, and maybe the theme from Maverick and you've got a nice set list.
