Michigan Daily vs. OSU Lantern Fundraising Competition

Submitted by 10th yr Senior on November 18th, 2019 at 4:40 PM

Hello board, I came across a challenge between The Michigan Daily and the OSU Lantern, where they are trying to see who can raise more money leading up to kickoff of the rivalry game on 11/30.

For the first time, the two newspapers are joining forces to do a joint rivalry issue and competing to see who can get more donations. The issue will focus on the Game and will be distributed on both campuses November 26th.

We are currently ahead by a hair, go here (http://www.mymediamate.com/lantern-michigan-daily-rivalry) to watch the competition unfold and, if you can, give & help the Daily.

Good luck Daily and Go Blue!

It goes to the school papers. You gotta remember that they don't receive any funding from the university, and the different beats traveling to games can really drain the budget because of rental cars, gas, hotels (if it's a tournament), etc. These donations can help fund smaller beats going to Big Ten and NCAA Tournament games — the baseball beat going to Omaha, for example, probably drained a lot of money.

It's truly great knowing that we can forget about ND  and MSU and stoke the raging ? of our hatred for OSU.  I guarantee that Justin Fields time in Georgia didn't prepare his sensitive ass to the pure hate that he's going to run head into on our field, in our home, in two weeks.  IT IS TIME!
