I'm going to make you a bicycle, but I don't want to make you a bicycle.

Kudos for taking ownership of the situation and not posting this at 1AM.

I wouldn't wish doing those on anybody.

I'm cancelling my subscription!

very little to be learned from anything that happened play by play wise last Saturday anyway.
Go Blue!

I somehow think the UFR would be too painful after all this. I for one am OK without a UFR

Maybe you'd have enough time to do your job if you shaved your beard, hippie.*
*I am just kidding. My beard is way bigger than your tiny ladybeard.

to shave that monstrosity take away even more from his job duties?

Yeah so that was kind of the joke.

Damn, how will I ever know if the offense played good or bad?

ESPN?

Brian,
I depend on the UFR to get me through a solid 45 minute poop at work on Wednesday's and Thursday's! What do I do now?
Sincerely,
Darker Blue

The only problem with this is the part about catching up during the bye week. Spare yourself, spare us.

False. UFRs can have negative scores. How I long for a UFR with only 0s.

Everyone on defense: 0

rushed 32 times for 183 yards. Jake Ryan made 5 tackles. If everyone on defense gets a 0 I'll eat my hat. (I won't actually eat my hat.)

Weren't you and the others out on the Diag and at the President's House last night calling for a Bye Bye Week?
October 1st, 2014 at 11:18 AM ^
Brian I don't blame you for not wanting to have to rewatch that over and over...
October 1st, 2014 at 11:21 AM ^
But I need numbers to validate what I saw last week!
October 1st, 2014 at 11:23 AM ^
Rats. I had one really pressing question.
See, hypothetically, how do you grade the Shane Morris post-concussion handoff? Is there a negative RPS? Or just Hoke/Brandon bonus ratings?
"Hoke (-15) sends Morris in due to serious communication errors (Brandon -25). Ref (+3) offers Hoke a timeout, which Hoke (-20) declines. Morris (+2) guts out a handoff without falling over. RPS -3 for having a guy who can barely stand play quarterback. Hard to tell if this is simply total and utter incompetence or a malicious violation of human rights; results based charting. Hoke -25 extra for destroying his team, Brandon -50 for destroying the program."

for having better judgment than the coaches and medical staff to break it outside for a respectable pickup and GTF out of bounds and stop the clock so Shane can leave the game.

if any extra effort could be seen between the 1st Q offense under Shane, and the 4Q offense under Devin. There appeared to be some player - player, or player - coaching decision dynamics going on that seemed to clear when Devin went in.
Maybe the sample sizes would be too small to tell.

I assumed there might not be one given the state of things. I would reconsider whether it's even worth doing over the bye. I wouldn't wish that job on anyone.

Just let me know if you need help with UFRs the rest of the season. I've developed a device you help you out...
October 1st, 2014 at 12:35 PM ^
I was actually lookingforward to the Defensive UFR to better understand where the breakdowns came. The Offensive UFR? Well......mayby you could UFR the "March to Schlissel's House".

I like to know what is happening with this football team and Mgoblog is my favorite resource.
October 1st, 2014 at 12:55 PM ^
Not that I think you should do it, but I would be interested to see how Shane Morris would grade out vs. Devin Gardner. That might quiet some of the people who were longing for Morris to play, if they haven't already been quieted...
October 1st, 2014 at 1:15 PM ^
There doesn't seem to be much of a point to the UFR right now. The value in it has always been to analyze the games to find strengths and weaknesses and make predictions about future events. But when things are as bad as they are now or at the end of each RichRod season, the analysis seems kind of worthless. Especially since no improvement is coming.

October 1st, 2014 at 1:42 PM ^
Seriously, Brian - if you refrained from doing a UFR this week as a quasi-protest, no one would blame you. This is only me, but I think we've reached the point where Dave Brandon's mendacity and malfeasance have overshadowed anything and everything that takes place on the field. You've often skipped UFRs of games too painful to recap - like most Ohio State games and the Gator Bowl. The current circumstances surrounding the team and the program itself have made everything about this season infinitely more devasating than even the worst jailsexing we endured under RichRod. That was one game; the current crisis involves the very soul of the program.
Why kill your sanity by reviewing footage of a game when literally everything around the players is a raging tire-fire? Until this administration is gone, do the games themselves actually matter?

I think I speak for all of us when I say...
Please don't review Minnesota.
