Yeah, it was. Only 11 fouls between the two teams and 3 trips to the free throw line. Not much stoppage in play.
January 5th, 2011 at 9:22 PM ^
Purdue's game ran late, few timeouts and few fouls. Did seem quick though.
January 5th, 2011 at 9:15 PM ^
28-26 at the half, I'll take it. Now let's pray they keep it up next half and that Beilein makes better adjustments than Ryan.
January 5th, 2011 at 9:17 PM ^
if you had bet that we would have led at the half in Wiscy, you would have taken my mortgage payment. Still another full half to go, but impressive nevertheless.
January 5th, 2011 at 9:18 PM ^
We've actually taken them down to the wire in Madison three or four years in a row. We just haven't finished.
January 5th, 2011 at 9:24 PM ^
Why would you think that would be such a good bet?
Michigan was winning by 2 at the half in '09 and 3 at the half in '10 at the Kohl Center
Lost both by 6 and 5 points, however. Michigan has played well in this building under Beilein.
January 5th, 2011 at 9:17 PM ^
Thanks for reminding me about that whole OMG WE DON"T HAZ A COACH thing.
January 5th, 2011 at 9:18 PM ^
I'm sure they were happy to be of service!
January 5th, 2011 at 9:18 PM ^
We have taken the crowd completely out of the game. Are their students on break?
January 5th, 2011 at 9:19 PM ^
by the magnificence of Michigan Basketball! :)
January 5th, 2011 at 9:18 PM ^
Was that interview only on M radio? (Listening to the audio broadcast via computer.)
January 5th, 2011 at 9:22 PM ^
What was the line he ended that interview with? Something about racing down the floor to score or something like that. haha.
January 5th, 2011 at 9:32 PM ^
I forgot what he said. Except for "Go Blue."
And then the announcers had to remind us of WIsconsin's statistics coming back after being down at the half.
January 5th, 2011 at 9:37 PM ^
I think it was "racing down the floor to explore and score."
The guy has a way with words. I've said this before, but I also love the way he always ends the halftime interview with an emphatic "Go Blue!"
January 5th, 2011 at 9:19 PM ^
Holy smokes, that PSU game was sparsely attended. That was like a women's game crowd.
January 5th, 2011 at 9:25 PM ^
I know we all hate Herbstreit, and he hasn't exactly proven to be Miss Cleo in the past, but this free Rivals article is interesting:
http://michigan.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1172960
OK, not that interesting, but another opinion on the matter, at least.
January 5th, 2011 at 9:30 PM ^
But that phraise, "You can take the buckeye out of the crackhouse, but..." didn't just spring up out of nowhere.
January 5th, 2011 at 9:33 PM ^
Yeah, I didn't really post that because Herbstreit said it, more because I just hope he's right.
January 5th, 2011 at 9:32 PM ^
Just give it up, man. At least if you do, you'll be pleasantly surprised if he flips back.
But, in reality, I think it's over.
Plus, its basketball season!
January 5th, 2011 at 9:32 PM ^
who our next coach is a death wish for that.
January 5th, 2011 at 9:35 PM ^
I think that Herbstreit will be shocked when this whole thing is resolved.
January 5th, 2011 at 9:27 PM ^
There is an uncanny resemblence between Bo Ryan and their mascot, the badger. He is a scary looking man....
January 5th, 2011 at 9:29 PM ^
I'm happy Gus Johnson is doing this game. Go go Gus!
January 5th, 2011 at 9:29 PM ^
Does anyone know where I can find those shoes the team is wearing?
January 5th, 2011 at 9:31 PM ^
This would be a pretty huge win. How many Big Ten wins will it take to get to the tourney? 9? We have 6 against Iowa, PSU and Indiana. If we can win all six, and pull out three against the rest, that would do it. Or four against the rest, to make up for the one we drop against the bottom three.
January 5th, 2011 at 9:34 PM ^
I would have to think that we need at least one win over a ranked team on the road, and a win like tonight on the road plus not dropping any "bad" games to Iowa, Indiana, Penn St., or Northwestern. Beating Kansas, who has not looked all that great would also be a HUGE step.
January 5th, 2011 at 9:34 PM ^
We go above .500 and we're in.
January 5th, 2011 at 9:36 PM ^
What about .500 even? 9-9 in Big Ten play.
January 5th, 2011 at 9:40 PM ^
Unless Clemson gets on a roll, we have no strong OOC wins to speak of.
January 5th, 2011 at 9:54 PM ^
Yes, it will
As long as they dont flame out with a one and done B10 Tournament
January 5th, 2011 at 9:33 PM ^
I've said it before and I'll say it again. Is there anything dumber than the "airball" chant??
Especially when they're still chanting it at a guy like 15 minutes after he shot it?
January 5th, 2011 at 9:35 PM ^
The current, um, process situation rings a bell.
January 5th, 2011 at 9:34 PM ^
Doin' the bull-dance. Feeling' the flow. Workin' it. Workin' it.
January 5th, 2011 at 9:34 PM ^
What was with that horrible camera angle ? They should retire it for the rest of the game
January 5th, 2011 at 9:36 PM ^
I remember it from watching high school basketball on local tv when I was in, um, high school.
January 5th, 2011 at 9:37 PM ^
Big Ten home refs are in full force. Bullshit charge on Douglas.
January 5th, 2011 at 9:37 PM ^
A brutal charge call....a sudden barrage of Wisconsin 3's....this is starting to remind me of every other game in the Kohl Center
January 5th, 2011 at 9:37 PM ^
Need to keep scoring baskets. I sense a horrible drought approaching.
January 5th, 2011 at 9:38 PM ^
I hate playing Wisconsin in Madison, because they seem to always get the benefit of the doubt from the refs there. This game isn't as bad as some, but they still are getting more than their fair share.
January 5th, 2011 at 9:38 PM ^
Coach B's rotation seems odd tonight. I think he is still upset with Morris.
January 5th, 2011 at 9:38 PM ^
Christ, these guys are drilling the 3s
January 5th, 2011 at 9:38 PM ^
and by the way, is Bo Ryan the crypt keeper?
January 5th, 2011 at 9:38 PM ^
Or Wisconsin can just make every 3 they take.
January 5th, 2011 at 9:39 PM ^
That might be the whitest student section I've ever seen.
January 5th, 2011 at 9:42 PM ^
Have you seen Purdue's? At least Wisconsin's includes some girls.
January 5th, 2011 at 9:47 PM ^
At least there are some Asian students at Purdue.
January 5th, 2011 at 9:45 PM ^
geez .... c'mon miss a shot - unbelievable shooting
Go Blue !
January 5th, 2011 at 9:39 PM ^
is I hear all the cheers and get excited. Then I remember it's an away game.
January 5th, 2011 at 9:41 PM ^
Well, Wisconsin is hot.
January 5th, 2011 at 9:45 PM ^
and so is your mom.
