Spike: 10 points, 2 boards and 4 assists
October 7th, 2014 at 10:23 PM ^
Let's be real here... Spike's going to average a triple double in points, blocks, and rebounds this season

Points
Blocks
Assists
Rebounds
i would assume he will also bring the chairs in to the center of the court during the time outs as well as handle any gatorade spills as well - is there anything he can't do?

Yeah, I was nervous for a minute.

That's exactly what I thought.
How about something like "What's your pass/fail grade for MBB players this year?"
October 7th, 2014 at 11:24 PM ^
Yikes! Pass/fail sounds worse. How about "MBB Predicted Stats?"
October 7th, 2014 at 11:29 PM ^
The current title is the edited title. The original one was something about pass/fail for key players. Sounded very concerning.

Crap ill fix that. we dont need anymore negativity!
October 8th, 2014 at 2:17 AM ^
When the negativity in the AD office and on the tootball field stops, the negativity in football posts will stop. It's not fucking aeronautical engineering....

I would hope Walton easily beats those stats. We need him and Irvin to make a big leap wih Stauskas gone
October 7th, 2014 at 10:34 PM ^
I fully expect Walton to make that Beilein year 2 leap. That quote that Coach B had last week about Walton "looking like number 3 out there" has got me all kinds of excited.

6. Dakich
6 floor slaps, 4 towel waves, 2 dances, 100% hype
October 7th, 2014 at 10:33 PM ^
i would easily take the over on that

And Bielfeldt?
Beilein said no one in the Big 10 can stop him. Suck on that Kaminsky.
October 7th, 2014 at 10:53 PM ^
Developing 3-star talent into all-conference stars as sophomores? This is... so unlike football
October 7th, 2014 at 11:35 PM ^
John Beilein and LaVall Jordan uber alles.

Subs = crazy

double post.

i almost posted the exact same thread. with tigers bowing out early, and the 2014 football being discussed to death before the end of 2013 and *sigh* no reason to begin speculating about this team's future till we know who is getting ousted, the only thing michigan basketball/football/ detroit tiger fans (feel like this is a common subset) have to server as a sports distraction is michigan basketball.
i'll still follow football, but outside of gametime i'd like to think about it as little as possible. and tigers will go dark till the world series is over.
i need an occasional sports distraction throught my day. some arbitrary grading from bleacher report, cbs has caris as a 2nd team all american, the guy down the street wore a michigan jersey. i do not care. the team starts in less than a month, this board needs to do a better job of providing me information that i want to read.

Actually i think Irvins stats r realistic. I just hope Walton can do better than just 10 points and 4 assists. If he and Spike can average 22+ points and 8+ assists per game we should have 1 hell of a PG combo
October 8th, 2014 at 10:57 AM ^
Last year, Walton and Spike played in all 37 games and combined to play the full 40 minutes per game. They combined for 11.2 points and 4.9 assists. You're essentially asking them to double that production without playing any additional minutes (unless you envision them playing together more frequently this year).

Luckily, if he takes the typical Beilein jump, I think he has every chance to beat them. Hope he and Irvin can get it done.

I was kinda hoping we'd win a few games by having the opponent forfeit out of fear.

Too high: Irvin, Walton rebounds. Donnal points.
Too low: Chatman points, rebounds. Walton points. Levert assists.

Why does everyone seem to feel they have to put the obligatory Football thread snark disclaimer into every basketball post?
The basketball program is good enough that it doesn't need football thread snark for a basketball thread to be "justified."

am I off?
October 8th, 2014 at 10:51 AM ^
As a team, Michigan averaged 14 assists per game this year. These predictions have the starting 5 producing 13.5 all by themselves. That seems very optimistic, if not downright unrealistic, particularly if this is supposed to represent the pass/fail baseline.

expecting from the bench players this year? Red shirts? Contributors?
