MBB #25 in AP poll

Let's go.

EDIT: So they screwed up. We're actually not #25. FSU is because they beat up mid majors.

Beilein teams respond well to disrespect. Gotta pound SCAR and Mount St. Mary's this week and we're in.

EDIT #2: These people don't know what they're doing. Now we're T-25 in the AP poll. Okay?

think people are going to wait to see if they can keep it up.  Marquette and SMU are solid but they are not exactly world-beaters.  This is good.  Gives them some recognition but keeps them hungry.  To early to read press-clippings.

the fact that they so soundly defeated the #41 and #42 teams, per KenPom, is impressive. Last year, Michigan beat just one team rated better than #42, per KenPom final season rankings - #19 ohio state in late February.

Otherwise, it was #45 Oregon, #53 Syracuse, #60 Illinois, and then a bunch of teams rated worse than Michigan's #74 rating.

They also lost to 138 EMU and 172 NJIT early on. I don't think we'll see a repeat of those performances.

I'm slightly more optimistic than "cautiously". If this frontcourt play and defense keeps up, this could be a really good team.

with the 4 wins being over Top 25 ish teams.

Pretty darn good for a bubble team.  The problem was there was a large drop off from there, with the rest of our "best quality" wins coming from beating bottom B1G teams we should beat.  And then there were the wins over the non-conference RPI 300ish tomato cans.

That MSU is ranked above us, after getting beaten badly by two ranked teams and literally needing to steal a win at home against FGCU last night is the greatest injustice since the founding of the United States of America!

(OK, this might have been hyperbole...)

So not a single undefeated team in the top 25.  Each of the top 3 teams are 2-2.  Gonzaga at 11 with a 1-3 record.

And all this on November 21st.  Even with early tournaments, I don't recall seeing results like that in an early-season poll.

[EDIT - That's because the team records are shite.  Totally inaccurate.  Has Michigan at 2-1, which ... waaaaaahhhtttt?]

It's not just MSU being above us that doesn't make sense. It's MSU being ranked. They only managed to get to 2-2 by cheating to squeak past FGCU at home. Total garbage team.

They've looked pretty good this early in the season. My guess is we'll have some good and bad wins. Hopefully more of the good ones especially late in the season.

given the ESPN studio guys were calling them a top 10 team after their last win. I'm not saying they belong there either but just squeaking in is rather curious.
