that more recruits haven't flipped to Michigan, it's too short a time and too small a sample size to make any judgements.  These are 17-18 year olds who have spent a significant amount of time making a college decision and whether they will change their mind on short notice is very unpredictable.

So I hope we get a few more recruits in this class.  But it's not critical to our success.  I have great confidence that Harbaugh will coach up our current players.  And with a reasonable amount of time, Harbaugh will do wonders on the recruiting trail. His first full recruiting class will be top notch.

Whatever players this program gets will be a benefit because of the greater expectation that they can be coached up to become valuable contributors, whether next year or beyond.

Winning salves and solves the recruiting mission more than having a name coach with an energy and schedule that would sap lesser men. Michigan is on guys and turned several it wasn't likely to be on without Harbaugh's hire in the wake of Hoke's firing. Imagine if someone other than Harbaugh was hired and what this recruit lineup might look like?

Forget that. This staff is going to make its mark by making its mark, and all good things will follow in that order of exectation and achievement, which is proven. You don't even need to consider how hard or agressive these guys are or will be going forward given what you already know now. It's like a two-minute drill deep in your own territory and we're on the march ready to strike, maybe not for a tying field goal or winning TD, but on the march. And we need another big play to make it happen.

Tomorrow, you'll find out what players can make that big play happen down the line. For now, appreciate what you got and how well this team is now compared to your past worries about its tuture. This team is going to win and we know this because that's what Harbaugh does. He's been doing it since he came to Michigan and started for Bo.

Take that confidence and let's build on it starting tomorrow, no matter who signs or doesn't. The future starts tomorrow, but remember we are already on the road to victory.

it's understandable Harbaugh hasn't had a lot of time to forge relationships, but Mora seems to be jumping in late on players' recruitments (Clark, Smith, Wheatley) and making a considerable impression to where his school is now seemingly considered the favorite in most cases

long-term i'm not too worried, but i'd hoped for a little bit more of an expedited rebuild given the HR hire of Harbaugh and the recruiting cache of his assistants

"And like Harbaugh, McElwain hasn’t had time to build the kinds of relationships with elite targets that other coaches have cultivated for years. "

Liek the article mentions, the first time Harbaugh was allowed to meet in person with recruits was not that long ago, so working from behind as he is with nearly all of these kids, it has to be incredibly difficult. That he has done what he has, even if it hasn't garnered as much success as some around here may have hoped, is much better than most any coach could do however. That being said, this class may turn out better than we probably thought it would even on Decmeber 30th when Harbaugh arrived in Ann Arbor, and I am hopeful it is simply the quiet beginning of a nice run in recruiting, especially if we do well this year.

I think its a good thing this class was gonna be small anyway...

win some games next year and recruiting will go better...

we got gentry, cole, etc.  it isn't like we didn't get anyone...

Paleeeeezzzz.  WTF does that even mean?  Michigan is signing a small class and always was signing a small class given the size of classes in 2012-2014.  And this year there just aren't many top rated players who are either not committed or not leaning strongly toward one program that's been recruiting them for many months.  Aside from that, Michigan already has a lot of talented players on the roster so even if we did end up missing out on a lot of remaining targets, it won't affect us much, if at all in the upcoming season.  So, there isn't any story here.  Just another click-trolling post from Grantland.
