Marcus Ray to be a DB Analyst?

Submitted by BigShotDave on

Sam Webb alluded to Marcus Ray becoming a DB Analyst for the 2015 football team.  This was the first time I've heard Marcus's name mentioned for a coaching position.  Does anyone know where these rumors are coming from?  What is the difference between a coach and a coaching analyst?

I so agree with all these extra position coaches! Excellent idea.

1. More hands on attention which perfects the craft - attention to detail

2. Added pressure to perform.

3. More coaches can help with 3rd string ala Cardale Jones. Never know when an ACL will go!!!!!! We need next man ready.

I'm surprised this is ok by NCAA, but since it is, I'm surprised schools with the resources don't use it more. It's pretty easy to think of ways that knowledgable coaches could look at recruits, study game tape, etc, in a way that could make the jobs of the official coaches a little more efficient.

I shit my pants when I read who started the Ducks offensive change......Bellotti's first offensive coordinator hire as the Ducks' head man was another split-back guy, Al Borges. The two crafted a system designed to stress defenses horizontally with two-tight end looks and power potential to both sides. In their season together before Borges moved to UCLA, they built around Ricky Whittle, who carried 260 times and caught 55 passes. And when you stretched too wide, they gouged you deep with Cristin McLemore (16.2 yards per catch).
