M Alumni: Cato June Sighting
UFL game is on Versus after the Oregon game. Cato June just took the first penalty. Too bad he's on Maurice Clarrett's team, as I'd like to see him blow up Clarett at least once.
How is Brett Farve not quarterbacking in this league? With Culpepper vs Jeff Garcia going tonight, this seems like the perfect place for someone who should have left the NFL already.

Cato June is who Dennis thought he was.

how is it possible that no one in the NFL needs his services?

How is the UFL funded? Where does the revenue come from? I'm assuming VS has the contract. However, I can't imagine them paying big bucks like ESPN or ABC. The stands are practically empty and there are some big names in this league (even though some are washed up).

The UFL was initially funded with $30 million raised by a group of investors headed by Paul Pelosi, husband of former speaker of the house Nancy Pelosi. The more you know.

...still the Speaker of the House until Jan when the new Congress is sworn in and the Speaker election is held. But, thanks for the tidbit on Paul Pelosi. I wasn't aware of that.

His Wiki page reads like a novel. Incredibly in-depth!

I think they need more hash marks on the field.

Good to hear he is still playing. Maybe he'll get a chance to get back in the NFL next year.

he had a couple really good years in Indianapolis and disappeared when he signed with the Bucs

I’m sure I’m the only MGoBlogger still watching this (and flipping back-and-forth to the Nevada-Fresno game), but check it out—our favorite long-term backup Matt Gutierrez is in the game for Omaha in relief of Jeff Garcia.

Sweet. I'm going to the last regular season game this Friday wearing my M gear so I'll try to get a pic with Cato if possible. ...and a pic of me "pretending" to punch Clarrett in the face (if it slips and I accidentally punch him in the face for real, well then... oops).

Cato looked enourmous. Any data on his height/weight between then (U of M) and now (UFL).

'02 Roster had him at 6'1, 217.
Nighthawks have him 6'0", 205. Wikipedia has 6'0", 227. While Wikipedia isn't the best source, it just seems more plausible when looking at hime.
