[LOCKED] Liberty hires former Baylor AD Ian MCaw
Liberty University hired former Baylor AD Ian McCaw.
I hear they're going to hire Jerry Sandusky when he gets out of prison....

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

Actually, this isn't surprising. I'd assume 90% of people affiliated with Liberty voted for Trump.

Not going to break MGoRules other than to say... The hypocrisy with this hire is off the charts.

None of the senior athletic department officials were aware McCaw had been hired until he walked through the door in his introductory news conference, a source told ESPN's Brett McMurphy.
Umm. What? I'm assuming they didn't tell anyone because they didn't want negative press. If that's the case you should not be hiring that person.

Based on how Liberty operates with its hiring and firing procedures, they thrive on doing basically whatever the hell they want--from the top down.

1) I doubt this thread survives given the lightning rod Liberty University is.
2) I didn't even know they had an athletic program.

Well, must be a Liberty fan somewhere here, given the insta-negs across the entire thread.

I'm a public critic of Liberty for many things. I have ripped them more than any other academic institution, bending my own personal rules for discussing politics and religiously divisive issues to do so. I am significantly far from "a fan."
I've dropped some negs, because a majority of the comments here are not comments that are critical of Liberty for hiring a tainted AD; they are considerably darker and more offensive than that.
It is a foolish hire. Asking "are women even people" and "do they even teach science courses" is deliberately insulting. This thread needs to go, because apparently it is hard for people to tell the difference between disagreeing with intentional insults and supporting a foolish staffing decision.

Is AD at Liberty considered a Cabinet position? If so, this seems to be par.
(I know, no pols... Coulldn't resist this. Plus, this thread will be locked away very soon anyway.)

This shouldn't be surprising. Religious instituions have long dominated the field of hypocrisy.
