have to bring his own turf with him...
You think there will be any left?
Someone please tell Les he doesn't really "camp"

Big problem here. SMSB is gonna be at Wayne State this year. They have a turf field.
to taste like chicken.
Sound bodies for everyone!
I like Les and I'm glad he's coming back for a camp - good for him. It will be very interesting to see who from the SEC/ACC goes where up our way.
By the way - I hope somebody tells them they'll need to pack their own grits. Thankfully that gruel is not considered high cuisine in our next of the woods.
I cannot lie, but my favorite breakfasts have to include grits. Grits with butter and some pepper sprinkled on top gets my day started right.
Grits is like the crap they feel starving orphans that make the starving orphans so mad they revolt and sing songs and do elaborately choreographed dance routines while rioting against the evil starving orphan overlords.
I've seen both Anne & Oliver. Same shit was fed to them and all (dancing) hell broke loose after a while.
....but this was not before a lot of kids started in with lines like
"Pease pudding and saveloys
What next is the question?
Rich gentlemen have it, boys -
Indigestion"
Not a big fan of grits.
However, I will tolerate the existence of grits due to their importance to the plotline of "My Cousin Vinny" which the best piece of cinema created by man.

I use instant grits. I have no pride.

purchased just ground on Saturday in my mother-in-law's hands, with some local cheddar cheese, Limestone sausages, and fresh goose eggs from my friend Coby in Wewahitchka. . . believe me. . . I didn't think I liked them either.
MGrowOld--are you conflating grits and gruel? I think they are pretty different. You might find grits at a southern diner, or shrimp and grits at a nice gastropub. Gruel is pretty much only served at orphanages and on the Simpsons.
Love me some grits.I like some variety, so switch between butter/salt and butter/brown sugar.
I see you've never had real grits before. Did you have a bad batch and never tried again? That's the only way I can rationalize this.

If grits were so damned good, you wouldn't be chopping up 6 different things to mix in there with them.
Says the man who drinks everything straight?

The point is, no one eats grits plain and no one eats a dry crust pie.

That's a crap comparrsion. You can enjoy eggs, bacon, and whetever else without the grits, if you take an ingredient out of pizza it's not even pizza anymore. Grits are served as a breakfast side dish just like hash browns... but you dont need to add something that taste decent to hash browns to enjoy them.
I don't get it. Every time I've had them, they just taste like the salt, pepper and butter that I put on them.

Next time, skip the butter, add a Kraft single. Melt it in and then pour out on a plate. Put two over easy eggs on top. Then sprinkle chopped bacon on top of the eggs.
Then you'll like grits.

Butter, salt, and pepper in perfect hominy.
What is what midwesterners eat.
B) as most of my family is from the south, grits are the bomb too if done right.

Well we know Malzahn isn't coming up north in June, what with the weather being what it is that time of year. Wouldn't want him to freeze.
Good.
Les is up there as one of my favorite active college football coaches. Just to name of few:
Jim Harbaugh
Les Miles
Mike Leach
Ken Niumatalolo
Mike Gundy
Pat Fitzgerald
Gary Anderson

Went with the default spelling of Anderson.
I meant Gary Andersen. Nothing gets passed the watchful eyes of the MGoBlog community!
Past.

Eh, he's a passionate guy. Hard for this complaint to hold a ton of water when we're celebrating Harbaugh's sideline antics with an entire gif tournament.
Yeah, but Harbaugh's actually had some success.
To imply that Fitz hasn't had "some success" is ridiculous. What he's done at NW is impressive.
Like him or not, to say otherwise is silly.

Oh come on, your bias is showing. If Harbaugh acted exactly that way, it would be giffed and called the greatest thing ever. I never understand why people got so mad about that, especially since we won the game.
There's a distinct lack of Bob Stitt on this list...
Id never heard of grits...when I saw them I thought no way!.
Now I LOVE them ....grits with butter, pepper. and cheese...Yall dont know what your missing
