Le'Veon Bell is declaring for the NFL draft

Submitted by FabFiver5 on

Le'Veon Bell met with Mark Dantonio and has decided to declare early for the NFL Draft. Article from MLive is here.

"Upset's not a good word to use, but he (Dantonio) was taken aback a little bit. He thought he had a good chance of Le'Veon coming back."

Hopefully his future NFL team will have a better record against the refs than MSU did this year.

MSU might be headed for a real down year. Maxwell is super shaky. No RB to lean on. No dion sims to bail you out on 3rd down. If gholston leaves this team will definetly be looking like a 5-7 team. King Smug dantonio deserves such.

But I see another 6-6, 7-5 season for them.  They should regress to the norm in close games next year, which will give them some additional wins that their talent degradation on both sides of the ball will take away.  I expect that their defense will still be pretty solid, but if you thought this year's version of the Sparty O was a shitshow ....

Good luck to Bell - the NFL is getting a very talented RB and he'll likely have no shortage of interested parties. The final stat line for three seasons would then be 671 carries for 3,346 yards and 33 rushing TD, good for 4.99 YPC on average. In action as a receiver, 78 catches for 531 yards and 1 TD. That being said, just based on this season, that's almost 40% of their total offense walking out the door today in one RB. That will sting unless Nick Hill can do an awesome Le'Veon Bell impersonation.

we all know he is better than what he did this year.  I think he could be a solid power back in the NFL...get those 2 to 3 yards for a team.  Though if he tries that hurdle crap he will get boom powed

Fun to see MSU lose talent, but I don't know if they'll have a terrible year next year.  Their schedule is fairly soft:

Western Michigan -easy win
USF -easy win
Youngstown State -easy win
@ ND - loss
@ Iowa - toss up
Indiana - win
Purdue - win
@ Illinois - win
Michigan - loss
@ Nebraska - loss
@ NW - toss up
Minnesota - win

So, I've got them (splitting toss up's) at 8-4 based purely on weak schedule (no Ohio, PSU or Wisc and scrubs out of conference).

Guy at my work in the msu sweatshirt was walking around yelling "Bullshit!" repeatedly for the last few minutes. I think he is taking it like coach D did.

What is that crap? They beat us 4 straight years and you call them a bitch? How many years did you start or are you just an over zealous fan whose mouth is writing checks strangers on a field have to uphold? Tough talk is beyond stupid

A beast of a kid, should have a decent NFL career.  I do think people put more stock in his jumping over defenders than it warranted - many guys can do that, just most don't because it is dangerous - but he's a big enough guy that with the right offense he could put up good numbers.  Will be happy not to see him next year.

As for MSU, with Sims and Gholston also leaving, that team's peak seems like a distant memory.  They might be looking up at 6-6 next year at this rate.

Bell will get drafted... but it'll be in the mid-rounds.  He has no real top end speed level and or bounce ability..... a situational 3rd down back in the league if I've ever seen one.

I wouldn't be shocked if Gholston doesn't get drafted.... I'm serious.... his laziness and bust label will follow him to the combine and unless he jsut blows the socks off the scouts in drills hes in for a very depressing draft weekend.

memory. Everything goes back to normal next year with Michigan kicking the shit out of State in EL. They have lost Gholston and now Bell. You can kiss their 2013 season good bye now. Let the new era and the redemption of Michigan over State begin!
