We used the young Rothlesberger on Gentry, but to me Costello is a mix between a Miami (OH) Rothlesberger and a Joe Flacco.

That said, despite the hype he's still got some work to do. He's inconsistent in his mechanics and he throws off his back foot relying on his arm too much for my liking. He'll definitely take some changes.

I think his release can be a little slow at times.

Costello's ceiling is also unbelievable.

I like Brandon Peters too, very nice accuracy inside of 15 yards. Plenty of arm strength inside 15. But doesn't have the deep ball arm strength Costello has. When he throws over 20, he has to put his entire body into the throw. Kind of like a little kid trying to hit a halfcourt shot.

May be more college ready that Costello even right now. However, I'm guess Costello has a bigger school and harder comp.

Both have plenty of size. Both have plenty to love about them.

Give me Costello because he can redshirt and be that perfect RS Sophomore type starter.

IMO, right now, they're about even...but in 3-4 years, Costello will clearly be the better QB.

He's also looking to commit in the next month.  That would be a great start to the 2016 recruiting class, especially to get more kids out west.

thanks, prime example of the pretentious, stale grammar police on this site -  not even close to amusing, just nitpicking a perfectly reasonable comment rather than contributing anything of substance to thread / topic.

and if that type nonsense somehow solicits laughs or amuses, thats even worse

It's a little more structure than grammar. It reminded me (sort of) the old grammar example of: "Let's eat, Grandpa." Versus "Let's eat Grandpa." Those are two very different things that are differentiated by a very important comma. It's very important to know if those first two words were part of the title or not.

I wasn't questioning his grammar. It was a legit question. The placement of that period seriously changes the post. Either let's hope we get him because he is deciding in the next month, or let's hope he decides in the next month because with him visiting in two weeks we can make an impression. I wasn't attempting to be "grammar police," it was a serious question. But I guess you are just a prime example of someone who is very sensitive and lacks simple reading comprehension. I'm sorry you misunderstood my post and took it so offensively. I sincerely regret having rubbed you the wrong way with an innocent question.

It almost seems Costello is trying to visit before Brandon Peters visits for the Spring game in April. Just a couple days ago, it was reported Costello didn't have an idea when/if he was going to visit. But just after Peters scheduled his spring game visit this news pops up. Race to be the first commit? Hmmmm

I've watched a ton of tape on a lot of our potential quarterbacks in the 2016 class. This kid is by far my favorite! Think Harbaugh could turn him into something special! Excited about his visit.
