Doug's voice is like fingernails on a chalkboard. Wish it would have been Shep or Brian Boesh. Jansen will do a good job and is solid.
Love the choices! Been a fan of Doug since WTKA when I could actually get the signal in Sterling Heights. I was surprised they didn't pick a PBP guy with experience, but hopeful that Doug will find his niche and succeed! Anyone worried about him going to to MSU shouldn't. He has always been Blue! Jansen is a slam dunk. He is perfect for the job, just like Brandy was perfect for color and absolutely not perfect for PBP. Jansen will know what to say and when to say it. Since I go to most of the games, I don't listen a lot, but I certainly with be interested to see how these guys do. It's not as easy as it seems and I'm hoping they both do well. It definitely sets up for a seriously solid PBP/Color combo for many years to come.
People are entitled to different tastes of course. I really liked Jim and Dan. They were passionate about the team and the school.
These new guys will be as well.
Should do a great job from what I've heard of them on the radio in the past.
I spent many years without cable and thus listened to all the games on radio with Jim and Dan. They were fine but also the only voices of UM football I'd ever had.
I like Doug and Jansen in the roles they've had prior to this promotion. I expect they'll take some time to grow into this job. Can't say this duo excites me but looking forward to some voices that aren't from the Bo era/Bo era obsessed. I'll definitely be giving them a listen this year.
