Jim Tressel Spoke to the Ohio Team Before They Left
Jim Tressel spoke to the Ohio team before they left on Friday. I'm not sure what a ban from contact with the program means in Columbus but everywhere else it means you can't be in contact with the program. Can't wait for the NCAA to come down hard on Ohio for such obvious arrogance and insolence. But it's not like it helped them anyways: Michigan 40, Ohio 34. Go Blue!

Put it on their tab...

A ban from contact merely means "not the current named coach of the team", but everything else is fine.

"$1000 for each player if you beat Michigan"

Was Tressel ever fully banned from contact? I know that DiGeronimo was, but I don't recall anything about Tressel being banned.

banned but common sense would be to keep him away. Laughable.....that universities arrogance to the investigation

Upon further review he still cheats and sucks at doing so.

I guess everyone who would stop that is on their way out soon, so they said why not.
November 26th, 2011 at 8:06 PM ^
On Saturday, november 27, 2011, they are both cheaters and losers.

Isn't this like wiaving a red cape with "hit me" on it in the face of the NCAA?
November 26th, 2011 at 8:13 PM ^
Add to that possibly hiring Saint Urban and they pretty much have just given a big middle finger to the NCAA, which the NCAA apparently doesn't care about.
November 26th, 2011 at 8:16 PM ^
You should never talk to a man in a cape Frank.

This whole season was a blow to Coach Fickell...
November 26th, 2011 at 8:15 PM ^
A lot of damn good that did them.
November 26th, 2011 at 8:44 PM ^
He promised a win last spring when the shit hit the fan. Your promises are all becoming lies James.

At some point, doesn't someone pull Gene Smith aside and tell him that he is doing EVERYTHING wrong with this NCAA investigation fiasco, and that hiring Meyer isn't going to be the band-aid he thinks it is just because the guy coached Tebow a couple of years ago? You can't have the former coach - who is responsible for your LOIC charge and a bunch of potential sanctions - talk to your team before a big game, especially when said coach is banned from contacting said team?
November 26th, 2011 at 9:27 PM ^
I'm pretty sure Gene Smith has been his own boss since Tressel left.
Unless he still reports to Tressel.

these cheaters with so much white hot passion.
I used to love the respect, the good physical play, but they've made a mochery of it to end what was their streak.
Fuch them all.
November 26th, 2011 at 8:54 PM ^
It's almost like they don't care about the NCAA's rules at all. Weird.....
November 26th, 2011 at 8:54 PM ^
...word for word...
November 26th, 2011 at 9:03 PM ^
I can't decide whether they're just that stupid or whether they're that confident the NCAA won't hit them hard. Or maybe both...
November 26th, 2011 at 9:07 PM ^
I seem to recall on Memorial Day, right after Jim Tressel "resigned," a ton of OSU slappies showed up on his front lawn and Tressel promised them that OSU would win in Ann Arbor this November.
What happened there?
November 26th, 2011 at 9:17 PM ^
He just wanted to update everyone on the street value of the gold pants.
November 26th, 2011 at 9:26 PM ^
He kept it simple: Kids, after the year this team has had, people in Ohio will be ecstatic if you win this game. Your gold pants will be worth a fortune. Go Bucks!
November 26th, 2011 at 9:26 PM ^
I think he said "We'll still kick their ass!" last spring.
Fucking slimeball.
November 26th, 2011 at 9:31 PM ^
Snake in the grass.

and the NCAA is taking it.
November 26th, 2011 at 9:47 PM ^
Was all over this one, they probably cleared it with the NCAA.... I mean they certainly told them about it right? Up front? I mean it would be stupid not to... And they can't be that dumb... Can they?
November 26th, 2011 at 10:10 PM ^
that they are the best compliance department in the country.
November 26th, 2011 at 11:44 PM ^
They discover more secondary violations than anybody.
(Too bad that doesn't leave them time to look for major ones.)

Looks like your team got its ass beat and you were wrong, so fuck you. You cheating fuck.
