If you live in Los Angeles...

Submitted by WolvinLA on

This is for anyone who reads this blog from Los Angeles, as I'm trying to spread the word about where we can all watch the games.  The alumni association has the official game watch up at Hollywood Billiards in Hollywood, which is a huge bar and great when it's full of M fans, but it's a hike for many of us.

A group of us who live in the South Bay have created a sort of Alumni bar South, since so many alumni live in and around South Bay, or they just want to avoid the hassle of getting to and from Hollywood (or don't want to valet their cars at a sports bar).  The new bar is called The Pitcher House on PCH in Redondo Beach, just south of Hermosa.  The owner has agreed to devote the bar to Michigan.

We want to make this big, so if you want a fun place to watch the game with tons of UM fans, please come.

I've been to Hollywood Billiards for games before and it is a good time. Not crazy about the parking situation, but that's LA for you. My old man works down in Redondo, though, so I'll pass this along to him.

I wish there were a good UM bar in SF that wasn't in the Marina. I'd make it to way more games that way if there were.

I love down in Marina, California about 2 and a half hours away from you.. You mean there's a Michigan alumni group out here? Can people who haven't graduated from Michigan come? (Still in High School)

I meant the Marina District in San Francisco. That's where the alumni bar is in SF. Just not really my favorite neighborhood and kind of a trek from my place.

But you may be able to find an alumni bar near you if you do some research on it. Some places will allow minors, but I'd call in advance.

Then you can click on a region and see if there is anything official set up in your area.  Most major cities are covered.

For me, I'll be at STATS in Atlanta, near Philips Arena, with two other fellow alums.
