I have an out of the box suggestion for solving two big problems: Ask Jim Harbaugh to be the AD. Thoughts?

If you think about it, JH seems more interested in things like transfer rules, and player creature comfort rules than coaching. He loves battling the NCAA more than battling the Spartys and Buckeyes.

This move would also save an uncomfortable conversation about firing him.

Warde can be some Chief Deluxe Fundraiser or something.

Thoughts?

I had the exact thought about an hour post game. It would give Harbaugh a chance to serve the school he loves without dicking up the basics.

But what happens when he starts calling in plays from his corner office?  Rumor had it that was Dave Brandon’s jam.

We don't have to worry too much about the " uncomfortable conversation about firing him" since his current contract (and Don Browns) both expire at the end of 2021.   All we do is ride this season with him and throw out some feelers, next year we let him know we aren't renewing his contract, send out serious inquiries, and let incoming recruits know that he and Don Brown will not be returning.   Josh Gattis I'm all for keeping for another year to see what he can do when he is the sole playcaller.

Good god no!! He doesn’t deserve this position at all and would screw up the whole department. You don’t reward him for being mediocre.

I thought maybe this would save Jim Harbaugh at some point- putting him as the AD, but man- that loss to the in-state rival after being a 21.5 point favorite. And to a new head coach at State. Just ouch. Don't know if I can look at coach the same anymore. I am quite disappointed- almost as much as losing to App. State- this one you have to listen to your rivals mock you because it was them.
