they hate all things michigan down there?  Speeding seems to be a capital offense IF you have michigan plates!  your court cost are going to kill you.

true story:  back when i was a young engineer -- read single -- i drove from toledo to cinci every week.  i was following a michigan plated car that was going abit over the posted speed limit, about 20+.  the state trouper going north on I-75 , crossed the median, ignored me and nail the guy with the michigan plate.

When moved down here (Dayton, OH-NO) in 2002, I got "MGINEER"... spent 45 min at the BMV explaining that it wasn't code for being in a  cult or something explicit. Would agree with emailers above.. get ready for your car to get shat on. Seriously.

I had to drive through Ohio for the Connecticut game and my license plate (my avatar) got quite a few, well, interesting reactions from people on the turnpike. Also got a speeding ticket while going 2 miles UNDER the speed limit but it was well worth it! :)

I had to drive through Ohio again when I moved back to Michigan from NY this fall, and let's just say I have a very distinctively colored 15 year old car completely decked out with UM stuff from almost every viewing angle. I think the only thing saving me from getting pulled over was the fact I was towing it behind an RV and couldn't really get it above 60-65 anyway.

He wrote it up as me going five mph over the speed limit even though I had my cruise control set at two under FOR THIS SPECIFIC REASON, and my GPS confirmed. As I said tho, it was well worth the ticket to see some of the reactions.

I think that is a fantastic license plate.  If you've got any Michigan gear on you car, I think you'll get a reasonable number of people that figure it out.

Unlike the OSUSUX plate, that I think would play okay in places away from Columbus (such as Cincy, where I'm at), that plate is asking for some pranks (or worse) to your car anywhere in the state.  Make sure you've got good insurance!
