HomeSure Lending MGo-Pregame Party Near Stadium + A Round on Me - RSVP

Submitted by bigdemo on November 30th, 2021 at 6:54 PM

First off, a very hearty Go Blue! This ___ eating grin I have been wearing since Saturday afternoon just won't seem to go away.

I found a bar that looks very servicable right near the stadium to host an unofficial get-together.  I would love to buy all my fellow MGoNerds (who are on the RSVP list) a round of drinks at 6:30 before heading to the game.

They have agreed to have the basketball game on at 1pm with sound and to have the sound on for the pregame show.

The bar owner has been really great but did ask that we do our best to get them a solid RSVP count for saving tables, etc. Please help me out and RSVP.

21+. Indiana liquor laws only allow for people 21 and over in bars that do not have separate dining rooms. This is one of those. Sorry, no kids.

Location - Stadium Tavern (Across from Lucas Oil Stadium)

802 S West St, Indianapolis, IN 46225

Here are some ideas:

  • Two excellent options are on the other side of downtown (about 2 miles from the stadium) - the first is the new Bottleworks District of Mass Ave.  It's a renovated Coca Cola bottling complex with different food vendors and lots of fun activities, including foosball, pinball, duckpin bowling, ping pong, and bocce.  Getting to and from that area is the biggest issue - an overpriced uber would do the trick nicely, or you just go for a nice long walk (at least the walk is right through downtown the entire way).
  • The Fowling Warehouse is in the same general area as Bottlworks, so the same logistical caveats apply, but it's bowling with footballs!
  • The Punch Bowl Social is much closer to the stadium, and has many of the same types of activities - bowling, arcade, pinball, ping pong, etc.
  • The 16-Bit Bar+Arcade is smack in the middle of downtown and is all ages until 7 pm - it's an arcade!
  • To the west is Speedway Indoor Karting, which is - surprise - right by the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.  The karts are fast!

I'm sure it'll be packed on Saturday, so perhaps those options on the Northeast side might actually be less crowded, but I don't really know.

Matt and Mgo Fans,

I RSVP'd and in some stroke of luck, I bought parking yesterday in a lot that is .1 miles from Stadium Tavern!  The lot is an official tailgate lot of the Indianapolis Colts so we might as well turn that into the official Michigan lot too.  Follow the link below, parking was only $32 when I purchased.https://www.parkwhiz.com/p/indianapolis-parking/650-s-west-st/?event_id=1117104
