Hello: Mike McCray!!
http://recruiting.scout.com/2/1164896.html#.T1Zd5KFI-2U.twitter
Not a surprise, but welcome, son!!
I've been waiting all day to use this:
McCray's committment to us will keep that song relevant for me during his tenure, I look forward to it.
YES!!!
I can't wait to see him suit up for Michigan (even if it's still a few years down the road).
Hail Yes!
This will never get old
That sh*t McCray
Continue to grow and capitalize on these pipelines. I love this guy's size for the SAM or MIKE.
is a huge get, we already have Roundtree but they played my highschool 2 years ago in the State Semi- finals and they had 9 division 1 prospects on their roster. Trottwood Madison is a great school in Ohio.
This is probably not that funny, but shouldn't it be more like "PHHHHHHHHH?"
Ha. ANDDDDD done.
I really feel like this came out of nowhere. I mean he visited right before his announcement date. Who would have guessed that it would be because he wanted to commit?
He's actually on campus right now.
he was even on campus too.
for his own safety, I assume.
ABSOLUTE BEAST in the middle...
Body type reminds me of Rolando McClain...
If you suggest that he move to DE, watch his film, and you will 100% want him to stay at MLB....
SO HAPPY
SO MANY HAPPIES
I've watched his film.
I want him at SAM.
The pick 6's got me excited about the idea of having him in the middle of the field, but im sure he'd be good at SAM, too.
He might be fine at MIKE, too. I just don't know if a kid who's supposedly 6'4" and 240 lbs. as a high school junior can stay small enough to remain at MIKE. And besides that, he doesn't really seem to have the instincts for MIKE when it comes to stopping the run, but maybe that will come with time. I think we got our MIKEs in 2012 (Bolden, Jenkins-Stone) for the next few years.
He has the frame to set an edge in the run game and makes good plays in space. I'll take him at Sam. If I remember correctly, you LOVED James Ross, so I will assume you project him at Will?
He does.
Or linebackers - they are basically point and shoot! Welcome!
Nice pick up go blue
WOOP! WOOP! SHOOPIDY DOOP!
Is that you Bill Cosby?
Well the first shoe has dropped. How long until Gedeon is in the fold?
Can this be changed to Hello: Mike McCray?
Ohio, and to add a cherry to it he daddy played for OSU. Talk about a perfect ending.
It's curious that Urban didn't offer. The kid is Rivals' #44 player in the country and a high 4-star. Oh well, we're more than happy to have him. Go Blue!
And so the LB haul begins. Love McCrays versatility, cant wait to see him on saturdays!
If he wants to push Cam Burrows down a well or something during practice, I won't be mad.
I wonder if this kid knows he is all over a Michigan blog site!!
Linebacker U
Hellooooooooooooooo Mr. McCray
No seriously how the hell is Hoke pulling this off? I'd really like to stare this horse that has been gifted to us in the mouth for a while and see what makes it tick.
I don't recall Hoke burning up the recruiting trail in San Diego. I'm not sure I've even heard a good theory of how to attribute this success. Thoughts? Conjecture? Wild speculation? I'll take it all at this point.
This is Michigan - for God sakes
This is Michigan Fergodsakes.
I believe Mike Farrell has something to do with it
weird
.
i thought he was going to #FSU
.
yes
He wasn't selling MICHIGAN in San Diego. It's easy to sell this school and our great staff.
this is MICHIGAN fergodsakes
First: Funk, Mattison, and the rest of the uber-recruit gang that he has assembled help.
Second: It was Miami-OH and SDSU. I don't care how good you are, you're not going to "burn up the trail" there.
Finally: It seems like when Hoke was at SDSU, he got a lot of highly ranked kids to at least look at it. Maybe my memory is wrong, but I feel like they showed up on a lot of lists, at least briefly. Those highly ranked kids aren't going to CHOOSE SDSU, so just getting them to look is big.
Minor correction on your second point, Hoke coached at Ball State and SDSU, not Miami-OH. Your points still stand though.
1.) I think when you get a couple big name players early, like Morris, it creates momentum. Then you get a couple more good players and it all begins to snowball
2.) A big name school with a talent deficiency (opportunity to start soon). I don't think it hurts that defensively you could see the field early and often.
3.) Mattison is a great coach, who wouldn't want to be on his defense?
4.) Hoke seems like the real deal: the quotes from the players, how he handles himself, the product on the field! All of these things add up to the type of team someone would want to be a part of.
5.) This is Michigan fergodsakes, right?
I think the first two are the very important to a high school phenom... just my opinion though.
