Very happy about this.   I just discovered Veep seasons 1 & 2 available on Amazon Prime.  I completed season 2 last night and was extremely bummed about not jumping right into season 3.   Problem now solved.   That show has been my nightly stress elixir for the last week-plus.   Laughter is so therapeutic.

I would phrase it like "not sure if Bill Maher exhibits THAT much..." and score him a 10 on entertainment and 7 on how aware you have to be of politics to enjoy it, because it's brilliant commentary but it's not like he's got a deep grasp of policy. If political comprehension of the viewer/listener needed to enjoy is what we're measuring, 10 is probably The Weeds podcast.

Veep is around a 5 or 6. If you're a fan of the West Wing you'll get everything. If WW was challenging to follow, you'll still be OK but if WW was totally unenjoyable because you were like "WTF is everyone taking about" then you'll still like Veep but it's not always going to make sense.

It took me almost a season of Veep to realize that's the same actress that was in My Girl. She aged a lot better than Macaulay Culkin did.

Oh, to see Sopranos again.  I saw that from Day 1 and watched it through.

I know people say The Wire was better, and it's very true the best of The Wire was better than the best of The Sopranos, but the latter was excellent every season until the end (I loved the last episode).  The Wire's final season and a half fizzled compared to prior.

By the way every season of The Wire is also available with this.

Highly recommend Ballers.  Not a family show though.  But if you like sports, The Rock, and seeing cameos, and some comedy sprinkled in, it's a good show.

Silicon Valley is good too.  If you've worked in the Bay Area, it's a documentary.  If not, it's quite hilarious -- just know shit like what one sees in Silicon Valley happens for real.
