Has there ever been a concert at Michigan Stadium? - Question for Michigan historians.

Not sure how many people heard but last week the University held the first concert at Crisler Arena in a very very long time. It got me thinking about whether there has ever been a concert at the Big House. It hasn't happened in my 30-someodd year connection to the University. Curious if any of the Michigan historians on the Board know anything I don't.

Obviously there have been non-football sporting events (soccer, hockey) and graduation but I'm curious if the University has ever gone there.

Don't know this for a fact, but I suspect one of the issues would be because the service entrances to older stadiums are not big enough to get the stage equipment on to the field and it would become very cost prohibitive to rent cranes to bring everything over the stadium's walls.

Yeah, I know, username checks out here—but Pink Floyd really should have played Michigan Stadium on their Division Bell tour in 1994. I saw Pink Floyd that year at…Ohio Stadium. Yeah. I know.

Just discovered Elvis played Crisler on 4/24/77, roughly 4 months before he died. He wore the 1974 arabian jumpsuit.

Interestingly the ticket stub read “chrisler”

In addition to those mentioned, I saw REO Speedwagon at Crisler which seemed like foreverrrrrrr ago.

Prince and The Time may have been on the best show at Crisler Morris Day was C - O - O - L.

The English Beat at Second Chance and Dr Bop and the Headliners were more than memorable.

Also had vague memories of the Deadheads camping out and lighting bonfires in the old orange lot in 10 BR$ ( before Ross $) when there was no Okker Fieldhouse or anything really south of Yost.
