There are a few NCAA rules that cause this. Regardless of your program/coach, March is the slowest recruiting month of the year. First, until mid April the coaches areprohibited from calling the recruits. The recruits can call the coaches, but if Harbaugh were to call, say.... KJ Costello, it would be a violation. This causes for a slow process in the beginning. Second, the evaluation period has not started yet either. This again means that the coaches cannot visit the recruits school and contact him. The evaluation period allows coaches to evaluate a players grades and practices for the first time. So unless the kid has shown up for an unofficial visit, this is the first time any of them will meet Harbaugh. Lastly, when you couple standardized testing with the camp circuit and baseball/track season, many players aren't worried about committing to a school right now. They have 11 months to decide. No need to rush it. I understand its boring this time of year, but the commits will come. The real recruiting for the class of 2016 hasn't really been started.

Jim Harbaugh is a GREAT Football Coach.  Urban Meyer is a GREAT Football Coach.   Dantonio is a VERY GOOD Football Coach.

Jim Harbaugh however is:  A FKIN GENIUS.  He truly is a genius at Sales & Marketing.

Freaking Dave Pompus Brandon is a pimple on Harbaugh's A-- when it comes to Marketing.

The guy is a flat out Genius.

All three of them are top ten college coaches. Only two of them are top ten football coaches.

I don't want to take anything away from dantonios accomplishments, he's done some great things. I'm curious to see how he channels this because for the first time michigan coverage isn't about the players... He can use it as disrespect, but it's not the same...

....well, among the weapons anyway is something that gets discussed here nearly every day - the fact that he is Jim Harbaugh. Being simply who he is manages to get Michigan discussed by someone or some outlet on a daily basis and as this continues, I think the results for recruiting will continue to be a nice net positive for Michigan. The best part about it is that no extra effort on his part is required (again, Jim being Jim) for the results to be seen even at this early stage in the Harbaugh era.

deficit in relationships with only 10 weeks of recruiting kids. Still, the staff (Durkin, Mattison, Jackson, support staff) has to win a lot of recruiting battles this year to ensure a strong 2016 class. The real gauge of PR will ultimately be if top recruits pick UM this fall.

Harbaugh is the complete package. Jim is a genuine person with nfl playing / coaching experience, elite player development skills, ability to get guys to the next level no matter their "star rating", and the guy wins everywhere he goes. While he and the staff are behind with the 2016 kids, it's only a matter of time until big time recruits come knocking. The "Jim Harbaugh cant / does not want to recruit" theme from our rivals and some media is a load of shit.

about recruitment. This program is rocking and rolling like you haven't seen in decades and they haven't played a single game yet under this coach. How can anyone be concerned about where this program is headed at this point? Seriously?

It's like a daily Red Bull adrenaline shot under Harbaugh.
