Guess tentative ap/coaches rankings come monday

#4 Syracuse loses 2 #7 Louisville loses #9 Creighton loses # 10 Saint Louis loses 2 #11 Cincinnati loses #15 Iowa State loses I know there are more games to be played - but damn it's looking good for us ranking wise. Thoughts?

probably 12. One problem is that there are no really highly ranked conference teams right now, so the B1G is more shuffling around in the rankings than jumping.

and seeing Michigan go up and others (others this week referring to most of the top 25) go down is all sorts of fun! I'm not entirely sure how much the rankings will affect the tourney seeds, but at the very least I know I wouldn't mind cracking the top 10 before tourney time. Doing so combined with a deep run in the B1G tourney might push us to a number 2 slot, who knows?

 

Anyway, I think I'll go with others in 11-12 or so. I think we need a few more teams to drop and a solid showing (not Purdue-esk games) against Illinois and Indiana to crack the top 10.

Team still has a lot to play for - outright title and NCAA seeding. I think a 3 seed is very likely if no ugly losses happen and a 2 seed will happen if UM wins once this week & the B1G tourney.

We're still a 7-loss team. Most of those are pretty old, to be sure, but hard to see the top 10 open to us just yet. TCB this week, and we might be. B10 tourney final (even if we do not win) could then get us on the 2 line.
