Goodbye: umbig11

In 2015 umbig11 posted on this board that he had access to extra UM v MSU tickets from the university ticket office and that he was willing to serve as a conduit to help mgobloggers to purchase them.  Being one of the few people to respond in time to his offer I've been able to interact with Mgoblog's favorite insider both by e-mail and over the phone.  I'm not going to punish his good deed by revealing his identity but I can share a few things so that we know where his info comes from.  umbig11 is a major donor who sponsors the scholarship of a current player.  I don't know how long he has sponsored player scholarships but he also told me the player he sponsored previously.  So I know the player he sponsors now is at least his second one.  I have no idea if he actually interacts with the player whose scholarship he sponsors but I did see one time that he provided early information regarding a situation that affected the player he currently sponsors.  

I can tell you that umbig11 lives out of state but attends every game, home and away.  I would assume that a job writing for rivals wouldn't sustain a lifestyle that allows someone to give generously to the school and fly to and attend 12+ games a year.  So my assumption is that Rivals is offering him some perk in exchange for inside information but that Rivals won't be any kind of real job for him.

Sorry for the very general information but I want to give his identity a wide berth.  However, I also wanted to quelch the thought that he worked for the university in any capacity.
