A good sign for the future: NHG back in pads and practicing.

What was his injury? I never heard any buzz about him being hurt until the year started and he just wasn't anywhere to be found. Would be really nice to get some more depth at LB.

One of the most stacked defenses we've ever had in terms of returning production.  And lots of guys who haven't even peaked yet (Mason Graham, Kenneth Grant, NHG, Makari Paige, Will Johnson, Okie, Derrick Moore, MacGregor, Benny).

I can't even imagine how unreal they're gonna be next year with another year of experience coming off an undefeated regular season

If he’s healthy never underestimate what 15 practices can do for an insanely fit early 20 something. I’m sure he wasn’t just smoking weed and eating cupcakes all year and not staying in some kind of shape. When I was his age I could lift for a month and look good for 6. Now I lift for 6 and look like a sack of quarters a week later.

Dukman, regardless of what bowl game a team participates in - the value of those 15 bowl practices cannot be overstated.  It’s not too dissimilar to game action during OOC for those lower on the depth chart.

There are two things that quickly come to mind, from an historical perspective - first, opening up a lead to get the 3’s and 4’s game experience.  Not all Michigan coaches have been “methodical” to open up three score plus leads so the bench can be emptied.  When possible, it’s something you have to do.  And, though Michigan has a great history of bowl participation, the decade or so which we’d all rather forget - created a greater challenge for development - because the team didn’t participate in a bowl.   Those days, IMO, are - fortunately - behind us.

Curious to see what his role will be in the postseason. I'm sure he's still in shape, but its a fair question to ask if he is still in "game shape." Could Michigan see him back on the field full-time in this final game or two? Or is this a "break glass in case of emergency" kind of deal where they're not going to put him in unless there's no other alternative?
