Golf Clubhouse Handicapped Parking Question
All, my dad is coming to the game with me tomorrow. He has a boot on his foot and a handicap parking sticker. He really can't walk much.
The Athletic department says that the only place we can park without a season parking pass for handicapped (and get shuttle service to the stadium) is the green lot by the golf clubhouse. It's first come, first serve. Anyone have any idea on how fast it fills up? What time do I need to be there to get a spot?

Been a few years since I've been to the BigHouse, but why not just drop him off right at the front entrance with a fold up chair and he can go sit off to the side and wait while you park? Why make him walk all that way?
Kudos to dad for being in that much pain/boot and still going! Sounds like a trooper!

The golf course clubhouse parking fills up fast, so I would recommend getting there before 9am.
The other advice (drop off with a fold up chair) could work too, but you won't be able to take the chair into the stadium. You could drop him right outside of gate 2 (across stadium blvd. from the golf course) and that is a very short walk to the gate. He could wait there on the brick while you park somewhere else.
Your best bet is getting to the clubhouse before 9am though. 8:30 to be safe.

The handicapped spaces are already sold out at the golf course.

This is NOT true. Do you work for parknparty??
The golf course clubhouse ADA lot (Green) is NOT sold out. This is a game day lot that is separate from the golf course parking (also not sold out) and sold first come first served.

Gate 1, Green lot, circle drive next to clubhouse, I guess I could be wrong. I have had to use it once this year. I don't use Park n party, but they do have updated list of what's available.

Agree with the drop-off option.
At all major sporting events it's a safe bet that every single handicapped parking space will be filled and fill early. Once in awhile law-enforcement agencies will run stops / checks on the handicapped placards against the people in the vehicles they invariably find a huge number of folks using dead aunt Jane's placard or their parents' placard from 3 states over, etc.

Thanks everyone for their help. I think we have a plan. We'll see how well we execute it.

Just to clarify for you... UM Golf course not AAGOC. Tomorrow it will probably be full around 10, definitely not 9 as stated above, not a chance. I tailgate there a few times a year, never been full by 9 not even for Ohio state.

There is the UM golf course (park on the grass on the course) and then there is the green lot ADA (park on the pavement in the actual parking lot at the clubhouse). The green lot ADA is full by 9am. I don't know when the actual golf course grass is full, so 10am sounds good.

I know exactly what he’s talking about. It is NOT going to be by 9am. I’ve been there just about every weekend for the past 6-8 years and have never seen it full by 9am, ever.
Edit... 10:05 still not full...

It’s okay, I am just going to run in and come right back. Less than 5 minutes.
