Glasgow About Mone: "I knew it wasn't too serious at all..."

"But Mone's left knee appeared more serious to observers, especially when Harbaugh said Saturday that they would perform an MRI. Considering Mone missed all of last season with a broken ankle, the fear was significant.

His teammates, though, were less concerned.

"I knew it wasn't too serious at all because he threw his knee brace on and got back out there," nose tackle Ryan Glasgow said. "So the season-ender wasn't running through my mind at all. You don't want them to miss any time. He worked so hard to play this year and play in front of all these great fans.""

Everyone can breathe now.

In the thread a couple below this one, Harbaugh indicated that he didn't expect it to be a season-ender but that Mone was probably out for this weekend. Fortunately, it's UCF and there's definitely some time for him to get back for the conference schedule if indeed they let him rest for the rest of the OOC (although hopefully it's just a week - never like to see things linger). Comforting news regardless though.

So in other words, Glasgow doesn't actually know anything. For all we know, he could have worsened his injury by trying to play on a partial tear.

Here's hoping Glasgow is right, though!

I think the initial assumption by many, myself included, was that he injured himself on his last play (the Delano Hill pick 6) and then went to the locker room.  However, it would appear that he strained his knee, put on the brace and continued to play.  Then, with the game in hand at 28-0, the coaching staff said his day was done.

That is significantly better than what I thought originally happened, which was more or less:

A) Ow!

B) MRI

C) Leg Brace

Sounds to me like the decision was made to pull him because we were dominating an inferior opponent and then that the MRI was performed to rule out a worst case.

I'm starting to again view the Hawaii game as 'unqualified victory' as opposed to 'injuryfest'.

20 or more points. I was always worried about WI coming in a playing physical, I still say we win at home by at least 10. I think Harbaugh is going to blow sparty out. IA will be another tough WI type game. And OSU will always be tough, hopefully our D will be ready for their zone blocking and spreadish offense look. It will be tough but 12-0 is still a good bet for this team.

for this.  Knock on wood.   Mone is a good player who has worked hard to get back.  Great performance Saturday.  Hurst back this week.  Gary sees more action and Onwenu gets some experience.   Hope Taco is back for Colorado.  Injury situation seems a lot better now than on Saturday.  Makes sense not to take any chanes with key players especially early in the season.
