Recruiting has definitely hit a wall. But 6 months ago, most were calling this one of the best classes ever. Realistically, UM won’t have a top 5 recruiting class due to pay for play. As time progress, the shit show that is NCAA, and big time schools, are going to keep paying players. I do not think UM wants (or able from the sounds of it) to compete. In any case, Bair not coming does hurt.

Smith most likely was always going to follow in his father's footsteps which is the college he committed to. For him to even think about us says something. Most people expected him go to Oregon like his father.

Maybe it’s just me, but I’m not sure why we’re getting so worked up about a kid who wouldn’t even get to campus for another three years, and may very well not see the field for 4-5.
This will be a completely different team, was completely different players by then.
