FWIW: Chris Barnett twitter post regarding Zeke Pike

Submitted by 719Yoop on

All of the speculation about Zeke Pike decommitting from Auburn and commiting to Michigan from Chris Barnett's tweet "Kentucky in my eyes..." and what not, has been followed up with this on May 1st.

Well, damn.  At least we know that should things change with Auburn (i.e. massive NCAA sanctions) we're most likely next on his list.  Which is absolutely no consolation at all, really.

Haha I saw the Shane Morris tweet, I didn't see Barnett write back to him. Glad to see Chris hating on Sparty already. I really hope we get Shane Morris, seems like we have a very good chance with him if we don't get an elite QB in this class.

Tom did say to expect some big news later in the week but more likely this weekend. it may not be pike but I definitely feel like something is going to happen this weekend that we do not expect. Heres to hoping.

I am not able to start my own thread on here and dont know if this warrants one anyways. But I was just informed that Ondre Pipkins was offered by Alabama. Just checked Scouts and they have an article under paywall reporting its true. It seems as though scouts believes he is very interested calling it one of his dream schools.

I would think Gunner would want to play as soon as possible and with Denard still having a year left if Gunner were to come here, but Devin, Bellomy and hoping we get Morris next year. I would like to see a few Offensive players commit as soon as possible. I cannot believe what Hoke, Mattison and company have done so far! I wonder if Hoke sleeps any? I mean this man is really on the trail of top recruits and seems to know what fits here at MICHIGAN!!

I think what maizedout means is players that (in Hoke's words) are fanatical about their play, are very good at what they play, they have a passion for academics, and really truly want to be at the University of Michigan. I think I can speak for the majority of M fans, THAT is what makes a top quality Michigan student-athlete. I don't think this was intended to go in the direction of the whole "michigan man" discussion...

....."“I know my heart is there and I know it’s where God is calling me." So, if he changes his mind (which I would be my left working testicle that he wont..I lost my right one in a bowling accident for those who are asking) would that then be him admitting that GOD was wrong?

Good luck at Auburn, IMHO I don't want the drama, I'm sure UM will pull a QB in this class and I'll save my meltdown if Michigan doesn't get Shane next year.

we have "good" receivers but not AC, Desmond, Braylon good...looking for some of those type of greats again.  Those type of threats are a huge boost to helping the running game.

In recent years, we've recruited some good receivers, but not great ones.  It seems the last really top HS receiver we signed was Mario Manningham (someone correct me I that's not right).  Michigan used to sign great receivers pretty regularly.  Hopefully, the new coaches will start finding the tall, fast, field-stretching guys we used to have.

With coming back to the pro style system the more traditional Michigan WR's will be back. The big time qb recruits, 5 stars ala Henne, will help bring the star receivers.
