$12.99 a month is only if you buy a year up front.

It’s $20 month to month.

$20 for a spring game that’s not a game and you aren’t allowed to tailgate at.

SLIGHTLY OFF-TOPIC: Would there ever be any interest in an ACC-Big Ten Spring Football Challenge?  Regardless of the opponent, would those games be more interesting than all the intra-squad scrimmages held as spring games, even if they were scrimmage-style games with modified rules?  (Think of all your high school pre-season exhibition games that were played against other schools, regardless of the sport.)  NOTE: Notre Dame would NOT be allowed to participate as long as they remain a football independent.

Say Michigan were playing Louisville or Syracuse or the Miami Hurricanes (or any ACC team chosen at random) this Saturday at The Big House.  Would that bring more interest from the Big Ten Network and ESPN than an intra-squad scrimmage?

MODIFIED RULES

The team that wins the coin toss can elect to receive or defer its choice until the start of the third quarter.  The receiving team then gets to run up to ten plays, starting from the 25-yard line.   If they score, they go back to start at the 25-yard line until they’ve scored again or they’ve completed ten plays.  Then the other team gets to run ten plays in the same format.

After each team has run ten plays, the first team gets to run ten more plays and the other team gets to run ten more plays. That would end the first quarter, regardless of the amount of time it took to run 40 plays. That would be the play for each quarter of the game.

There would be two time-outs per team per quarter, but no half-time.  Video reviews would be conducted by an official in the press box with a limit of 90 seconds for the review.

After each quarter, each team would get to run six special teams plays – two extra point tries, two field goal tries and two punts. There would be no kickoffs during the game, unless the coaches agreed to add them.

At the end of the game, the teams will have run 104 plays each (80 regular plays; 24 special-teams plays), significantly more than each team would run during a regular-season game, and probably enough to satisfy the coaches for each team with respect to evaluating talent and developing preliminary depth charts for fall camp.

Schedule the games for a time convenient to both schools. Seven schools from each conference would be selected at random to host the game each season. Those schools would have to travel for the game in the next year.  In the year when Michigan had to travel, there could be an intra-squad scrimmage or any other controlled event at The Big House that would be open to the public.

I love what flo started with wrestling but seriously screw flo. They’re full of themselves and don’t actually give a monthly subscription option anymore. It’s pay a year and you don’t get a refund if you cancel after a few months. I might still be a little bitter after wrestling season and the BTN tournament opening rounds only being broadcast there.
