Perusing the MGoTWIS Diary entry on a happy Sunday afternoon, I came across this entry by a disgruntled Sparty:

"FireDantonio.com is still available..."

I was surprised by this, so I checked. And sure enough. There it was.  Anyway, I bought it. Figured it would be worth a quick post.

Why would people think this is cool again? You are depriving people of seeing authentic content by a MSU who has the domain name. You will either let the site rot or produce insincere content.

My thinking is that a disgruntled fan or even a fan that hates I am trolling them will offer me my investment plus a handsome return for the domain. So I am domain squatting and trolling at the same time. Now all I need is to add a patent I have no intention of taking to market and I will have become all the things I hate.

At first glance it seems inane to suggest firing the guy, but honestly, there might actually be an argument for it. Think about it, he's 62 (?), and there is no way this team is going to recover from likely 3-9 to the point where they are competing for a Big Ten championship next year. And this is probably their only chance to land Narduzzi, because he's almost certainly going to be hired by a big program soon. If I were running the show there I would strongly weigh my options and talk to Mork about his future. But AD's don't operate that way.

Is he getting poached by a bigger program this season? I'd guess he'll be available next year.

Would he agree to replace Dantonio if he were fired after this season? Seems like he would be the logical successor, but those would be far from ideal circumstances. I doubt it.

I don't think there's any way Dantonio is fired for one bad season. If they struggle badly next year, I could see him stepping down.

The Big Ten is a better conference and MSU ranks higher in it than Pitt does in the ACC, this year excepted.. Neither is going to be a recruiting powerhouse, but MSU has better facilities, much better stadium setup, much more recent success and pays more. Pitt has a slightly better local recruiting base, but they're both second banana in their home state.

1) Great pic of coach if not for a little chew drool on the chin. Harbaugh is great but I could do without the chew on the sidelines, and no one can pull off a chew go soul patch.

 

Also, to the larger conversation, Dantonio was a minor god in East Lansing prior to this year. I doubt many fans are on board with firing him yet, but this is the begining.  Gonna be hard to not lose ground to OSU and M, maybe even PSU, and Maryland is putting together  better class than MSU's.

Hoke had probably 80 - 90% approval after year 1. 2 years later he was probably under water (mostly going by my sense of the board). The floor can fall out fast.

if you are a msu fan and want dantonio fired, you could not be more than 20 years old. dan tonio has won 7 of the last 9 games against michigan. this comes right after a 38 year span where msu only won 8 games. which include never winning back to back games.

   you have to go back to the 60`s to find this kind of success. go ahead and fire him sparty, that would only prove how dumb you really are. get used to it , as long as harbaugh is here one lucky victory every 7 to 10 years sounds about right.

i love blue. but he is a good coach. this is what you expect from michigan fans. one fucking season and you want to fire him. get real people. he would be picked up the next day. why blame him when his senior died and he had lots of injury's. go blue
