Engler is, I hope, a placeholder meant to give some sense stability and to navigate the political storm that is largely out of the school's control at this point. The permanent appointment is what will show whether Sparty "gets it" or not. Absolutely cannot give the post to a alum or to an in-state political hack. Must have someone from outside the state with no prior connections to the school. As to Mork and Iz, I'd guess the thinking is that they will stay unless the pressure becomes overwhelming, and Engler is there to help decide what is overwhelming. Also, likely will appoint an interim AD who will depart when a new President is named. Can't see a scenario that Mork and Iz would survive past the new AD.

to continue sweeping, or move rug and whats underneath it into a locked closet.
Bad move imo. And fyi, Engler is not going to be the guy to ask Dantonio and/or Izzo to step aside.

I don't think it matters. if I have learned anything from this it is that I don't think schools will do anything but protect themsleves until there has been an example made of one of them. I am not even talking criminal, bc the people left who don't get charged will continue protecting the school. You have to make it clear that protecting the school = protecting victims. Then maybe admins will wake up.
Suspend them from Football and Basketball for five years. Nuk 'em. Then schools will say "we can't protect higher ups at the expense of the school"
