Who gets his minutes next year? He played a role that we definitely need.

Teske, Davis, or both should be adequate filling in as backup big men behind Wagner and Wilson. At the very least, they should replace Donnal, and maybe much more than that if they hop on the Beilein development train.

that Mark is doing what he wants, but I wish that his role could have been better defined during his play on the roster. It's like Beilein wanted him for his outside shooting as a big, but he then got shoehorned into playing inside where he offered limited rebounding and rim protection despite his size.
So, eventually he excelled at nothing because there were expectations for his play that he couldn't fulfill because he wasn't really a great outside shooter and he couldn't do what was really necessary as an interior player except to spell others, fill time and foul situations.
I assume that impacted his confidence and ability to succeed in Beilein's system. No matter what though, playing defense and learnng how to become a good rebounder, still makes you a valuable commodity on any team. It's clear within this program anyway, offense and execution in making plays without turning the ball over without excessive fouling, are the keys to succeeding as a player. And Donnal just couldn't find that balancing act in a bigger role.
