Good for DJ.  Hope he does well at the next level.  I'm really hoping Walton gets snag in the 2nd round.  He was special down the stretch in March and hope he gets a shot.

Great for DJ! New Bucks GM Jon Horst grew up about 30 minutes from me. Our high schools were in the same conference and we played each other every year. Many around the league were surprised at his hire. Hope he does well, they have a solid nucleus to build around.

I never thought he would go that high so hats off to him for playing it smart and cashing in on his draft stock

Certainly unexpected---by me, at least. I abandoned the TV after the 15th pick (Justin Jackson) was announced, thinking Wilson wouldn't go any earlier than 22nd. Timed it right, too, for #22 that is. Only then did I see the crawl on the TV screen that Wilson went 17th to the Bucks. Congrats on making the right decision, DJ. May you have a long and illustrious career in the NBA!

Fascinating. Looks like DJ got good advice. Hope he develops quickly and has a long career. First Big Ten player off the board. That's pretty cool.

I am sick and fucking tired of people acting like it means something to take the moral high ground in a bullshit corrupt system where NCAA execs take advantage of "student athletes" who are anything but. In an alternate universe, Michigan stood up to the NCAA like literally every other program does these days, rather than bowing down and tanking the program so we could feel self righteous about ourselves for a decade while Sparty whooped our ass and became the premiere program in the state. The program is in a state of praying for the stars to align every 4 years. Beilein finds diamonds in the rough and they bolt after 1 decent season to go do jack squat in the NBA. Meanwhile, other programs are raking in 5 McDonald's All Americans per class and convincing them to stay after winning the NCAA Tournament and MOP. That fucking Burke block. Michigan's one chance at real basketball glory in 25 fucking yeara, snatched away. But at least we got revenge in a meaningless round of 32 game. /end rant You can all go back to your "he made the right choice!" circle jerk (not that he didn't, but if anyone thinks Bellein will have another shot at a title at this rate before he retires, I would like some of whatever kool aid you are drinking)

But it should have never gotten to that place in the first place, and Michigan shouldn't strive to be anything less than a blue blood. In the early 90s Michigan was as good as a program as any save for UNC, UCLA, and Kentucky. How many programs made the Final Four in the 60s, 70s, 80s, and 90s? Izzo still has a resume Michigan could only dream of for a coach at this point: 2000 NCAA Champs, 2009 National Runner up, 7 Final Four appearances; 20 straight NCAA Tournament Appearances; 7 Conference Championships; 5 Conference Tournament Championships. That speaks for itself. I am sick of this attitude where we cling to moral superiority in a system where everyone knows the rules are bullshit, and everyone is exploiting the athletes for profit while pretending they are amateurs and "students". Either verbally point out the hypocrisy and try to get it changed, or play the game everyone else is playing. But don't be satisfied with a 3rd rate ball program.

He balled out early and flashed too much potential. Early draft boards for next year already have Matthews in the 1st round and Moritz mid 2nd.

Still Harbaugh players stay. Beilein players bolt after one good year. Hell if we dont get bounced in the 1st against Ohio, Burke is gone. Why is this? Why do Izzo players stay as well. Happy for DJ but his wealth doesnt bring me happiness, i prefer hed stay and win us another title.

I'm glad he's going to get paid.  I still don't like his decision to leave.  Yes, some of that is my selfish love for Michigan but mostly I don't think he's ready.  That said, I'd assume NBA scouts/coaches know far more than I do, and I hope he proves me wrong and has a long, successful career.

The self-righteous, "See? All of you doubters can shut up now."

Most of us, myself included, thought he was going a year early based on what we saw and the information we had in front of us. Made the opinion. It was proven wrong. Life goes on.

It is so easy to sit back and not make predictions or have thoughts about stuff and play everything neutral in order to look right all the time.

We've all been right on stuff, we've all been wrong on stuff. That is the fun of sports. Don't look down on people have the guts to have thoughts/opinions.

Man he went a lot higher than I thought he would. I was thinking in the late 20s, but the NBA loves length and he has tons of upside. Congrats to him.
