1) The principal (I assume thats who the first speaker was) was a horrible public speaker.
2) I think they held the press conference in a classroom. I'm surprised I didn't see an "Oh the places you'll go" poster.
3) They didn't show him choose the M hat from a collection of other hats.

The kid just wanted a press conference. You should be happy he didn't pull a Terrelle "the bitch" Pryor and have a press conference just to announce that he would announce at a later time. Gardner is going to be great, and he's got the humble yet confident Michigan demeanor.
