Mark Dantonio on the NCAA ruling on satellite camps: "I guess abuse brings control."

Odd statement when you have the founder of SMSB on your staff who was on with Sam this morning and very upset with the ban

Wait ... what "abuse" is Dantonio referring to here?

Seriously.

The implication here is that had Harbaugh merely dabbled in satellite camps that it would not have constituted "abuse," and therefore not regulated.  But that suggests that the problem is not with the satellite camps per se, but rather the number of camps held.

Okay, what is the acceptable number?  Then explain why that number is acceptable, but that number plus one is not.

What Dantonio seems to be suggesting is that violation of the spirit of the rules should be done on-the-sly.  That may indeed avoid detection, but it does not make improper conduct acceptable.  Therefore, the number is either 0 (satellite camps are improper) or more than zero (camps proper).  And if more than zero, then Harbaugh did not abuse anything.

Yeah, yeah ... I know Dantonio is just being a sour old fart.  I get that.  But if we're going to be precise in our language, let's be precise.

Kermit the Frog's second verse says it all about poor Mark Dantonio:

It's not easy being green,
It seems you blend in with so many other ordinary things.
And people tend to pass you over 'cause you're not standing out like flashy sparkles in the water --or stars in the sky

Every time he zings out another snarky comment, Harbaugh wins. God, how he must hate our man. Even MSU fans I know are like "STFU, Mark".

I guess if that quote was the extent of his comments, then I would be curious as to what exactly he thought was being abused, especially considering that he himself had tinkered with the idea of maybe having a few of these camps as well. I guess I see this as a weird reversal on his part and I would be very curious as to the reason.

BTW, this is the epitome of a little brother move. Michigan fans owe it to themselves not to let it get under their skin.

the guy has 0 personality and coaches for a 2nd tier school. Its not a coincidence that no one can get his name right. He's trying to ride Harbaugh's coattails, which would be smart if he didnt choose such a stupid subject.

What a punk ass bitch. D'Antni needs to wipe the NCAA drizzle from his mouth. He made a restarted statement that only someone at Staee could make. Sheet and utter nonsense.

Harbaugh has ALWAYS been respectful to D'antoni and his backwards ass program.  Now that will end.

Look for 5-6 straight beatdowns on their Sparty asses coming over the next 5-6 years.  JH remembers what it was like in the 80s and you know he has a major goal of bringing that type of domination back.  It will happen.

While Dantonio's comments are douchey, it's funny that so many on this board are getting in a lather because Dantonio acted like a dick.  You don't get mad at fish for swimming.  You don't get mad at your dog for licking its ass.  You don't get mad at birds for flying.

So why get mad at Dantonio for coming off like a douche?
