Cornelius Johnson's first TD...did you notice Wilson?
I was elated for sure, as I thought the blitz was going to crush JJ or he was just throwing it away. At the end of the play, after he broke free, suddenly Roman Wilson appears. I wondered where he came from and why he was by himself. The answer--check him out at the bottom of the screen at the start of the play. Yikes. On the one hand, JJ never gives him a look. On the other hand, Knowles...haha.

I'm more intrigued with OSU's botched fake punt. Did they take the penalty to sell the fake (because why would you intentionally push yourself back before a fake)? If so, since the penalty was on the long snapper, he must have known the fake was on, so why does he snap it to the punter? Was it just a really bad snap or did he wrongly believe the fake was off?

Double A gap blitz makes the hitch the hot route

I said it right away, Roman was WIIIIIDE open. And it wasn’t in a complaining manner, it was more of a holy shit multiple receivers are getting open.

Yeah but the blitzers might have batted it down as their hands were up.

No, Yikes about it, and it was a pretty good call on defense, as much as I'd like to pile on Knowles. JJ and CJ just made a hell of a play. Just because someone gets open doesn't mean that the QB has time to look while getting blitzed. JJ had less than 2 seconds to get rid of that ball or take an 8-yard sack. Wilson's route was also longer and, therefore, would not have been JJ's first read with 2 free rushers.
