Yeah, but we've got to string a few of these together.  The SEC won all those championships in a row and they always win games like this Wisc-Alabama game.

They earned it.  They get to be top dog until somebody knocks them off.

Wisconsin almost did it last year to LSU.  Maybe they've learned something they can use this year.

Ohio State won the National Championship last season and before they throttled Wisconsin in the B1G Championship Game, they were looking like the bubble team that would be left out of the playoff.

Hell, a big reason why OSU is a huge favorite to make it back to the playoffs this season is because their regular season schedule is such a joke.  The B1G can start to change this narrative by actually beating some OOC teams in September.

It doesn't mean B1G schools should celebrate...but yes, the Big Ten conference won a National Championship. And they'll have it in their record books at their conference off and they'll most definitely celebrate it - as they should.

Notice, I said they and not "we."

Michigan is part of the B1G, it is not the B1G. That is a seperate office and organization and they did win a National Championship last year. The SEC, Big XII, ACC, etc. did not.

It might just end the rhetoric that it's all OSU, but the Big Ten, collectively, still has a ways to go.

Granted, we can't ever expect Minnesota, Illinois, Purdue, etc. to be consistently relevant on a national scale, but when Penn State, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Nebraska begin to pull their own weight, we might start hearing the end of it.

Week 2 --- 99% chance it's Oregon @ Michigan State.

Week 3 gets interesting.  I think Ole Miss/Alabama (ESPN night game), Auburn/LSU (CBS 3:30), Stanford/USC (ABC Prime Time Game) and Georgia Tech/Notre Dame (NBC) all have a chance.

Seems odd they're having it in Fort Worth.  Downtown Fort Worth is a solid 20 mins away from Jerryworld in Arlington.  That'd be like College Gameday for Mich-OSU live from Novi.

Fort Worth with have fans and other people around Sundance Square all week, including a lot of the fans going to the game that Saturday night. The stadium in Arlington will have an empty parking lot with little going on until closer to gametime. I'm glad they picked Ft Worth again - it's a great backdrop since they renovated the Square.

I hate, hate, HATE that they're choosing this game for College Gameday. Having that show at a neutral site defeats its entire purpose. GameDay is meant for campuses, not NFL stadium parking lots.

Its not like GameDay doesn't suck on campuses too. Waking up to a bunch of drunk people screaming about a game I usually don't care much about interrupted by sappy violin feature pieces is not my idea of a good Saturday morning.

I know they played LSU last year but I still have to do a double take when I see Wisconsin is actually playing Alabama. I guess 20 straight years of non-conference play against teams like Southwest Idaho State finally got old.

9/12

Oregon St at Michigan - Noon. Harbaugh's first home game and all that goes with it

Oregon at MSU -8pm.

Any chance ESPN does Gameday from Ann Arbor then pulling up stake and doing all of their evening/late night stuff from East Lansing?

won't do it but it would actually be kind of a cool idea to do a double set Game Day.  Granted, OSU(not that OSU) v. Michigan does not have the national implications but the Harbaugh story is compelling and you got the State of Oregon v. the State of Michigan element.  They have probably not had many opportunities to do something like that and you know how ESPN wants to be so cutting edge.

I hate feeling this way but I don't see the point of Gameday going to OSU/VaTech.

That game is going to be so insanely overhyped all because of last year. But once they finally face off, I see OSU winning something along the lines of 45-17.
