Slupage...but I can't lie, which he decided to come to Michigan. They kid had greatness written all over him.

Rosen and Mangum may be 2 of the best 5-7 QBs in the country.

He's played UNLV and UVA, both of which are pretty crappy teams. Let's see how he handles playing better competition in the Pac-12.

I don't doubt he's good, be he's still a true freshman. He'll make some mistakes this year, maybe some that cost a game.

But I think you're looking at a couple of first round draft picks. In terms of pure talent, I like them both.

Kessler is the only other QB in the country that I feel has true NFL talent. I would've said Hackenberg, but he's shell shocked and David Carr 2.0.

Cook and Boykin are great college QBs, but I don't think either do anything in terms of NFL. Cook has gotten better, but I still see Hoyer and Cousins. A "game manager" type. Boykin is a great system QB.

The SEC has no one, Prescott isn't even anything of note right now.

Man are you overrating mangum right now. Dude has started one game in which he threw as many ints as tds. He has been bailed out by his really tall receiving core as well. Not saying the guy sucks but considering him one of the 5-7 best qbs in the country after one start is insane.

Kessler I can certainly see, but we've also seen a large body of work with him. I still think we need to pump the breaks on Rosen. As you yourself implied, 1-2 years ago everyone thought Hackenberg would've gone first round, no questions asked. Now it's debatable if he'd even get drafted.

We have no idea what Josh Rosen will be in the next 2-3 years. My guess is he'll be pretty darn good, and like you said, the talent is definitely there, but he's a true freshman having played 2 games against far inferior competition.

I guess we'll find out soon enough.

BYU needed a desperate heave to win the last two games. That's not  sustainable. Mangum has a lot of promise, but he also has a ways to go as a passer and leader before we can put him in the top QB category.

These next two weeks should tell us a lot about Mangum. If he wins both then we can have this discussion about him being a top quarterback.

I thought the segment on Lawrence Phillips was well done, and I thought they ended it well in particular with the line about how we do want to see guys with so much promise make great choices, and that it is rather sad to see what happens when they don't basically.

I didn't realize that he was being charged with murder though - I knew about the incident that led to his current imprisonment, but not the most recent news. I don't really feel sorry for Phillips, but the segment had interesting insight into his life now.
