Chris Hunter

Good to see Chris Hunter of the Warriors putting up 16 points in the first half against the Lakers tonight. He also had 9 and 13 boards a few games ago, and followed that with 10 the next night. Good to see a former Wolverine see his hard work pay off. Go Blue

I really couldn't think of any other recent UofM player that would be more tailor-made for beilein's offense. Hunter was well above average from outside for a big man.

I felt Hunter was better than he played at UofM. Chalk part of it up to Amaker, but also he had some tough breaks with injuries. It's good to see him healthy, and from a recent photo I saw, he has bulked up considerably. I wish he had some eligibility left.

Saw him live some weeks back in Oakland against Utah. I was screaming the fight song after he hit two free throws. Good to see he is following that up.

Was anybody spotted seen doing the Crocodile chomp in honor of his (one of many) nicknames at college: Chris "The Crocodile" Hunter? He was one of my favorites while at Michigan for the ease with which he lent himself to nicknames (i.e. "Big Game" Hunter, etc.), the fact that when he would run he looked like a newborn doe and fell without reason on a few occasions, and finally his being featured on Petway's rap album. The Amaker era - if nothing else - provided unintentional comedy.

Yes, I agree with all of this, MNIT^^^^. I think being featured on Air Georgia's underground mixtape was, in fact, the highlight of Hunter's U of M career. I was watching the game last night and was exceedingly pleased with Chris "Big Game/Crocodile/B-School" Hunter's pleasantly surprising performance. If I recall, at U of M, he was always super-skinny. Even his senior year, he'd bulked up, but was only 215. One thing I noticed last night was that he has bulked up considerably in the upper body, but apparently only weighs 240. I thought to myself, "how's that possible? He's got big shoulder," etc. Then I looked at his legs- he still has sticks for legs. I mean, I think Zack Novak has bigger legs than Hunter. This does not bode well for his long-term stability in the post, which was evident last night, as he got pushed around by Bynum, Odom, and even Gasol. HOWEVER, he has a nice J, hustles, can pass, and works hard. I have a feeling he'll catch on somewhere permanently soon.

While I am happy he is doing well, this makes me sad. So much wasted talent on the team his senior year. That should have been a squad that could make a deep run and instead they missed the dance entirely. Hope he continues to succeed at the next level though.
