Charges being pursued for UM fan who slapped OSU player on Saturday

Submitted by Blueblood2991 on

A fan is said to have slapped or grabbed an Oregon State player as he was going into the tunnel on Saturday.  University police are now working with prosecutors to get authorization for an arrest.

I'm just curious if any of the bloggers witnessed this in person and could share some more details of what happened.

Tunnel before an Ohio state /michigan game. Never again, repulsive behavior by Michigan fans, cursing, spitting and even sexual comments to osu female trainers. These weren't drunk kids, some were adults that should know better.

Discipline needs to happen. Fans cannot, under any circumstance, physically touch anyone associated with the opposing team. If this fan has season tickets, they can be revoked. The fan can be fined financially. Can be assigned community service work. The fan can be banned from Michigan stadium for a year, or two, or five, or life. And while true that the fan can buy tickets on the secondary market, if the fan is ever discovered in the stadium, that's grounds for worse punishment. I really dislike some of the inappropriate actions in the world of fans.

Funny to see a few posters talking about the big tough football players getting slapped on the helmet.  Trust me, if this was Peppers running off the field at an away game and getting bitch slapped, these same posters would want the culprit prosecuted for some felony assault.

It's a stupid thing to do and at the end of the day the players and staff on the field should be afforded protection from asshole in the stands.

Guy should never be allowed at another UofM sporting event.

When I was 10, I called Randell El, Randell Smell and number 45 who was trailing him into the tunnel pulled me over the railing and ripped off my sweet gold necklace with a Nike charm on it. I need to look into pressing charges.
