BYU OL Ului Lapuaho not suspended. What a punch in the balls.
I tried to come up with so many witty things to say here but lost focus and cringed with each repetition of the punch. Apparently he was likely aware but not fully aware he may be punching the opposing players junk.
BYU announced he has been disciplined internally. No word on if the Boise State player was subsequently suspended for playing with deflated balls.

Conferences usually hand out the suspensions for on the field misbehavior. It's certainly been the case in the Big Ten.
September 14th, 2015 at 11:26 PM ^
Yes, it's a dirty play. Not to excuse, but the quick gifs floating around the Internet don't show the full story. This was a fumble 10 yards beyond the okay. BYU guy jumped on it and had laid there with the ball for a full 2-3 seconds before Boise guy speared him and started wrestling. Wrong? Yes. Unprovoked? Nope.

Good thing he only punched that man's twig and berries, if he'd lovingly caressed them he would have been kicked out of school.
September 15th, 2015 at 10:29 AM ^
On so many levels this post is plain idiotic Why the fuck would he caress his twig and berries in football? There is no intolerance like the tolerance of the left.

wants them "on the edge of playing within the rules".
Bronco Mendenhall:
"When I've seen BYU play at its best, the teams I've watched in the past, they are physically dominant, they are very tough. They are on the edge of playing within the rules because they are so aggressive."

Super cheap and intent to injure too. Went straight for the knees. Big time dirty.

Here is their current DE/OLB Bronson Kaufusi head-butting QB Keith Price of Washington in their bowl game two seasons ago (of course the ref missed it somehow..):

player had recovered a fumble, the Boise player jumped in after he was down and was trying to wrestle the ball away. BYU player definitely knew where he was punching.

While I would never go so far as to say BYU is just a bunch of thugs, there are some apparently less than stellar human beings on that roster. Especially for a school that holds itself to a very high moral standard like BYU does.

They're not thugs, an unfortunate few of their players just have a "mental illness."

My alma mater Georgia Tech had a 4-game home and home set up with BYU for 2012, 2013, 2014, and 2017. We canceled the final two games of that, and crap like this was a big reason. People close to Tech's program were saying the players were saying this is by far the dirtiest and cheapest team they have ever played, and that includes some of college football's big boys like Georgia, Florida State, etc. I hope Harbaugh beats these douchebags into the Michigan Stadium turf.
September 15th, 2015 at 9:02 AM ^
Understandable, but what happens when you are in a conference with a team like this and somehow they get admired rather than scorned for stuff like this?
September 15th, 2015 at 9:05 AM ^
IMHO this is a big reason why they can't find a conference. What with their rules about not playing on Sundays, their staunch if hypocritical religious stance, and dirty play like this? If I was a Power 5 commish I wouldn't touch a team like this.

Wow, I had no idea BYU was so dirty. That's some terrible stuff. Someone at SI or some such could make an interesting article about this, I would think (or has it been done already?).
Also, I hope we avoid injuries against these asshats.

I'm sure if we consult the Book of Mormon, this kind of behavior is completely justified....{thumbs through book}....don't worry, I'm sure it's in here somewhere....{continues to thumb through book}...no, no, wait, I'm sure we'll find it.

shit in Michigan Stadium.
It will be entertaining if they try.
But....don't be surprised when you see it happen to Michigan players:

Do unto others as you would do unto yourself. So, if you want to punch a BYU player in the balls Lap'ho just declared it's open season.
